One of my dragons has these small dark patches on his tail. I thought maybe its pieces of shed that didnt come off but not sure. Can anyone give me an ideas and what i can do?

Are these two dragons housed together by chance?
It looks like a bite or retained shed but, I'm leaning towards a bite.

Yes they are housed together but theres never been a problem with the two of them. Ive had them for a year and bought them as a pair. The indent has been there for maybe a month since ive noticed.

Unfortunately even beardies who have been together for 5 or even 6 years can suddenly turn on each other. It is best you separate them as soon as possible. It does look like a bite, and it's very likely that it is one since they are being housed together. You could do everything perfectly - providing separate basking spots, feeding them separately, having separate everything and one will always try to dominate the other. They are a very competitive species and are solitary lizards. Even though you bought them as a pair and they've been fine for a year, it really is best to separate them. If it really is a bite, although it appears to be a small sign of aggression for now it can get much much worse in a split second.

Whether or not there's a wee nip there is too hard to tell, but it is definitely shedding. Has the shed come off yet ? Be sure the humidity is not too low in his tank, spritz him twice a day if it is.

You can also give him a 10 minute soak every other day or so to help shed. Whenever you do soak him, make it lukewarm, about shoulder high and don't leave him unattended. Afterwards you can partially pat him dry + put him straight back in the tank where the heat is.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
