yea I use to have an adult beardie many years ago and had the wood chips in there with him and never had a problem but I do see that the babies are a lot more careless when it comes to eating lolw0554096":ugohpp01 said:Good to hear.

They wont eat many veggies but absolutely love chasing their crickets around.sweetiepie9":2fd3z1zt said:Awww, they are so cute, I love babies. I'm glad you're going to get them on a solid substrate and separate them as soon as you can. I have a few beardies that I got from pet shops that have lost toes and parts of their tails, so I'm a big fan of having beardies in their own tanks. I have 6 beardies now, got a new little juvie named Titan on the weekend. I also use newspaper as a substrate, lots of layers, so if they want to dig, they can dig through the newspaper & have fun doing it. It's easy to clean & getting free papers at my apt building sure helps!
If they still like to dig, you can make a dig box in the tank using flax seed or alfalfa pellets, but only if they don't use the dig box as a bathroom. So there are lots of things you can do with them. They look really comfy and healthy, getting around the couch is great, outside time is a lot of fun!

At their age they should be eating a lot of bugs, either crickets, phoenix worms, silk worms, dubia roaches. So let me know so we can figure out if they're eating what they should.
It's hard when you start out to know if everything is right. If you go by what the pet shops says, most of what they say is wrong. So if you want we can check together your set up. Sometimes the UVB is also wrong. So lets start there, what type of UVB are you using, if a tube is it a Reptisun 10.0 or Arcadia? Or is it a Reptiglo or Zilla.
The basking spot should be 105F to 110F. And are you dusting one feeding a day, 5x/wk with a good calcium, without phosphorus and with VitD3, then 2x per week with vit/min powder.
Those are the most important things to get right. Dragons need particular things, sunshine, bugs, good heat to digest, calcium & vit/min. Salad is important too, but not as important as bugs, as they need massive amounts of protein to grow. The UVB is important to make strong bones.
So let me know what your set up is. Thanks for getting rid of those wood chips, what did you decided to replace it with?
They sure look healthy and are very long for their ages!
yes its all coming together slowly but surely it a process because not only do I have Sunny and Spike but I also have a 3-4 month old puppy(in potty training) a 9yr old cat 5 piranhas a fire belly frog a 5yr old daughter a 7yr old son and a boyfriend who is just like one of the kids lol :lol:sweetiepie9":1gx1n2oa said:Sounds about right for their age, the calcium is daily 5x/wk and the vit/min is only 2 times per week, so what I used to do is use the calcium Monday to Friday, one meal only, then use the vit/min on Sat and Sun, one meal only. No more than that, they'll get too much vit/min.
Glad you got the tube, you'll see a huge difference in their growth. The coils don't give off enough UVB for growing. And you can replace the paper towels with newspaper if you want, stays nice and warm at night. Glad you separated them, too. You'll see a big difference once those tubes are in place and you get the basking temps right. They'll just grow crazy after that!
Glad you're feeding them 3x a day, that will also help them grow.
Sounds like it's all coming together!
