We lost r dragon last about 8 months ago a we r getting another please help with any tips on setting up the new cage it is a 55 gallon tank. please help with everything dont want anything to happen to new dragon. thanks

just make sure to get a good tube UVB light like a reptisun 10.0 and make sure its 6-8" from the basking spot otherwise there is the usual, keep basking spot temps at 100-110F and the cool end of the tank around 80F, everything else about your setup is not all that important and totally up to you but don't sure loose substrate unless you want problems.

Don't trust care sheets from pet stores, they often leave you guessing what exactly you need. Breeder care sheets are the best way to go, theres a reason they breed and breed successfully.

The best way to REALLY learn though it ask a bazillion questions on this forum! They helped me tremendously when i first started out, and even if i didn't have any questions i would read post after post about various topics which helped me learn alot. Its very important to be very well informed before purchasing any type of animal.

So.
1. ASK QUESTIONS!!! Very important.
2. Read lots and lots of post's by other members! Especially topics asking for help. These can be very useful because most likely experienced members of the site have already answered there call for help and you wont have to worry when your dealing with the same issue because you will have already learned how to deal with it =)

thanks for the info we pick him up friday talked to the guy we r buying him from and he has 30 years exp with dragons and other reptiles. he said everything we have is correct and my son is ready for him to come home.
