Should I mount uvb 5. Inside or out ?

I recently got the reptisun hood and it's a T 5 HO light with a 24 watt 5.0 bulb and was wondering if mounting it inside is okay ? My tank is glass and is a 50 or 55 Gallon one and the top is fine wire mesh

The 5.0 isn't really sufficient for bearded dragons. Can you return it and get the 10.0? When you do, mount it inside.

The *T5* 5.0 is just fine. But yes, it should be mounted inside instead of on top of mesh.

If you get a T5 10.0, however, it would be too powerful inside, so it should be on top.

You could also use a different type of mesh or no mesh and leave it mounted on top, like what I'm using:
