So, I thought I'd share this insanely silly behavior. My beardie is shedding right now on her face and she's taken to scratching her face with her hind leg...like a dog. Anyone else's beardie do this?

This is very common behavior for a shedding beardie. A nice warm bath would probably make him more comfortable.

Haha. It's very cute, even though I know she's very annoyed with it. I actually give her a bath every morning because it's where she likes to do her business, but I also gave her a bath last night to help out her itchiness. It made her relax a lot. Thanks!

Calypso does this, but only in her bath. No other time. I never did figure out why, LOL
Ours also do it when they get water in their ears or a little trickles down the side of their head.

Well, if she starts barking, then you'll KNOW she's a dog.

She usually scratches her back and sides, LOL I think she likes the tickle of the water. It usually gets her swimming.

And LOL about the dog comment. I usually introduce my beardies as my 'other dogs'.

Speedy does this also and also in the bath only. Neither of ua has seen her do it any where else. She doesn't always do it in the bath but if she does scratch her self, mainly the head, it's in the bath.

Iggy does the same thing while in the bath, even when not in shed... I can't figure it out either!

Scorch does scratch when she is shedding and also if you are touching her where she has loose skin. This morning my son was touching her leg where she had a piece of skin dangling off and she kept scratching at his finger. I wonder if that is like the dogs leg that goes when you hit a sweet spot when scratching them. He thought it was funny, she did not.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
