Repti Sun 10.0 UVB Lamp and Fixture

In that small of a tank I wouldn't use the MVB at all because it will put out way too much heat and will fry your beardie. Your best bet would be to purchase the repti-sun 10.0 and use a household bulb in a fixture on the warm side of the tank as the heat/basking lamp. There would be no purpose to use both.

i didnt start the trend, i was just curious if you could run them in lets say a crossfire tank design.

i need help as well. i have a 29 gallon tank. if i get an 18 inch reptisun 5 watt. do i also need a light for basking??
cause i already have a light but people have been saying how a repti sun 10. watt or 5 watt is good. if i get it can i just use it or use it with my other light?

There really would be no need to have both. The MVB provides more than enough UVB for beardies. If you need addtional light in the enclosure you can use a regular florescent bulb or one of those household energy saver bulbs. That way you get the extra light you need without adding extra heat.

Yes, you must have a basking spot in addition to the Repti-sun 5 or Repti-sun 10. This does not have to be a "reptile basking light" it can be an ordinary household bulb provided it gets your basking spot temp to 105-110F.

Only 1 problem, the hood said it holds an 18" bulb and the link you provided for the bulb says it's 24". Hopefully you just posted the wrong link. :?

why do you need that reptisun light and another light for basking? won't the reptisun give off heat just like anyother light? and the 18 inch repti sun would cover my whole tank. is that bad? cause that means there will be heat and light over the whole tank and i thought they need a cool spot to go

The 18" is fine, but it definitely will not provide the heat you need. That is why you need the separate heating bulb. Make sure you are able to add a basking light to your UVB light.

Also I think what was said is that you have a 24" fixture but only an 18" bulb.

You will be happy with the light I just got my reptisun 10 yesterday the minute it came we put it in, Everyday I make Lilly her salad and everyday it sits there today she was eating out of the dish I was shocked! she was going after the parsley and green beans and the only thing I changed was putting the light up for her! One day and I noticed a huge change, if the MVB's are better in 6 months I am buying my baby one

it depends on if the order has shipped. usually your best option is to call them and if it has not shipped they will swap it for you.

Do you have to use a Mega Dome for the Mega Ray Blub? We just got a new viv and a basking light fixture is already mounted in the tank (that red bulb came with the tank and is going to be taken out).

thanks for the help. I did call and they swapped it! petmountain has good service! thanks for the help again and I will tell you wen it is all set up. hopefully he can wait for the UVB! :|
