This is my new girl, she is one of Barbara's babies from the first clutch and was born on 7/17. Her proud parents are Ms. Tiggs & PVT Blaze. As we know, all Barb's beardies are spoiled.
She had a long trip from CA yesterday, all the way to NY. She arrived 12:30 today. She is gorgeous, has orange colored eyes and is a real sweetie.

I had a problem with Photobucket, promise to put up more pics later. She had a bath, ate a few greens & a little squash as well as 2 crickets. She has been cuddled quite a bit already. And, as Barbara knows, she loves to run up your hand & arm when you try to put her back in. :D
Her stress marks are gone right now, she laid on my lap and snuggled into my hand.

Diane, I think I just awww'd myself to death reading your post. Giz sure did give you the best birthday present from a beardie. What a good boy.

Misty's getting ready for her 4th clutch? Oh man, I had thought she was done, given it'd been awhile since her last.

What a trooper Judas is. Hope he'll be all clean soon.

Thanks Gina, it was great to be able to make that post about Gizmo. I'm sure he will be pouting some tomorrow though as I will be working. I am encouraged though and was able to get quite a bit of water and liquid calcium into him too. I think all those things made a difference. I have been wracking my brain for months trying everything and anything as I want him in good health before he goes into his semi-brumation state that he does every year. He is the smallest of all of them and can't afford to be sickly. Even though I never turn his wattage down, he semi-brumates anyway but at least he doesn't totally shut down for months. I just got a new battery for my scale today so I will see what his wt is, hopefully he has stayed the same or gained a few grams. The amazing part about today was that we didn't get home until 7 pm and for months he had been going to sleep in his tank in the early afternoon so today was quite a welcomed surprise. :p

No, she hasn't laid her 4th clutch YET but who knows what the next few wks will bring

Judas seems to be all clean now. He is something else! I wish Gizmo was as strong and healthy as he is.

Gina, I know I told you about Franklin the bull frog. Well, guess what, we got him a female that is quite a bit smaller than him but they get along very well. They are both so cute and are very entertaining in our water garden. Franklin is very vocal and actually responds to me. I will have to post pics of them too.

Really?! Franklin has a mate now? Cool, maybe you'll have babies soon :D
I'm still convinced about what we talked about. There's just no other explanation for it.

Diane, I dont know what, but this post didnt come up my 'view your posts' list at all since you replied! I dont know what is going on with that but it has been happening a lot lately!!!!!

Im so glad Gizmo had such a great day - hopefully that is continuing! Kazi does the semi-brumating too - im really worrying about him this year as he always goes into it in August... hopefully he can hold off for a few more weeks - like you I dont change the temps and I leave the lights on for the same length of time but it doesnt make a difference - when he decides it is winter then it really is Winter!!!!

OOOh, more eggies!!!! I hope Misty has an easy time laying them!

Poor Judas - at least the meds dont get him down and he continues being his wonderful perky self!

Cant wait to see the new pics!!

Hi dIane, finally catching up on your thread. Wasn't that great of Gizmo to be feeling really good on your birthday, way to go Gizmo. How is he today?
Has Misty laid her 4th clutch yet? Sweetie was up to 9 clutches last year & it really affected her health. Had to really feed her up to get her feeling better. I'm hoping no more eggs now, but you never know, I found a tiny poop/urate two days ago in the living room when she was in the sunshine for awhile. We'll see what happens. I was so hoping she'd retire! Let me know how Misty's doing.

Has Gizmo continued feeling better? It's such a worry when they're not feeling well. Hopefully he'll keep feeling better!

I'll be offline for a couple of days, taking this old laptop into the shop where I bought my new one & getting my files/pics transferred. Then tomorrow I pick up the new laptop & set it up. Then hopefully I can get PB to work properly instead of freezing constantly.

Take care,
Hugs to Gizmo & all of you
Deb

Well Gina, I'm not sure if Franklin & Sweetie will have babies this year or not as she is about 1/3 the size of him and quite young. It may be too late in the year anyway. I guess I'll have to read up about bull frog breeding. We did get a Thermo-Pond heater which keeps a good part of the water a certain temperature so that it doesn't freeze and it also keeps an opening in the water garden to help prevent toxic gas buildup. So, hopefully that will help them both survive the winter.

Thanks for the Belated Birthday wishes Barb.

This may sound strange to some of you but I explained to Michele about how Franklin loves listening to the radio, is totally infatuated by me, wasn't afraid of any power tools we were using to redo the top of the picnic table which is right on the deck right next to the water garden, how he sits on a rock outside of the water staring at the kitchen window waiting for us to come out and also how when we turn on the bathroom lights which is over the water garden, he starts making his croaking noises, she asked me who that sounds like, that she was convinced that Sabrina was reincarnated into a bull frog, Franklin. Gina and I were chatting about this on FB one day and she feels the same way so that's what she meant by

I'd like to hear others' thoughts.

Christina, Gizmo lost 13 grams in about 2 wks, I weighed him on Sunday, that really concerns me because he is so small boned and small already. He has some good days and some that aren't so good. Yesterday he didn't eat anything at all but today (since I was home sick), he ate 3 medium horns this morning and a super this afternoon. He walked around some but I can tell that he is weak and that his muscle tone isn't what it used to be. When I get a little CC into him, his stool becomes quite runny and he hates the CC, acts like he's gonna puke. He isn't eating his greens either, I have tried everything to make him nice & healthy but I'm out of ideas, I'm afraid that his age is getting the best of him, he will be 7 yrs the beginning of Nov and hasn't been totally healthy in a long time. I hope Kazi holds off a while longer on the semi-brumating too.
No signs of any eggs from Misty yet although she did run around and even did some jumping today as well as passing an extra urate so we'll see.........

Hi Deb, yes, it was great seeing Gizmo doing SO well on my birthday. I hope Sweetie is all done with her egg laying, the poor girl needs to retire.
Good luck with your new laptop, I know you really need it. It will be a treat for you not to have to struggle with PB, etc.
Hugs to you and all your babies too.

Hi Sara, yes, it's very draining trying to get him healthy, nothing is ever easy for the poor little guy. :(
I ended up staying home today, my throat is very sore and I have quite a "squeak" so I certainly couldn't answer the phone all day sounding like that. This virus is a nasty one with fever, total body aches, headache, fever, etc. Seems like the weekend I have off, one or the other of us isn't feeling well.

Hi Diane! Sorry that you are feeling crappy today...hopefully you can get a good nights rest and feel better tomorrow. I'd love to see a pic of Franklin if you have any. So you think Misty is working on another clutch?? Fiona only laid one, isn't that crazy! It's been an egg-a-palooza over here...Fez and Delila both laid infertiles this past month! I'm sorry that Giz is having a rough time too...I know how hard it is to do everything possible...Anyway, I'm trying to get caught up on everyone's thread so I'm off to the next! LOL!

Hi Kat, that's actually what I've been trying to do tonight, trying to get caught up on all the threads.
Yeah, hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. I have some pics of both Franklin & Sweetie, I just have to download them into PB which is always fun. Franklin has such awesome coloring, his face actually looks like it is painted and he is VERY vocal, likes copying the sounds we make.
It's so hard to tell if Misty is getting ready for another clutch or not. Would you believe she was up to 699 grams?!?! I couldn't believe that. Her next clutch will be her 4th. So, Fiona only laid one, isn't that something. It does indeed sound like an "egg-a-palooza" (love that saying lol). Hopefully Giz will have another great day shortly so I can fill everyone in. Thanks for checking in.

699! Whoa, that's pretty sturdy!!! Was that when she was gravid?? Belle got up to 645 but she's at 605 now and has been for awhile... Fiona is usually about 20 gram behind "big sister"! I'll watch for Franklins pics, I love the froggy sounds! I listen to crickets day and night now because I have had so many escape, who ever thought that I'd wish for roaches!

Diane, I just read about the Franklin conversation w/Gina ~ I believe... when we bought our house 17 years ago, we decided we'd like a dog for the kids... so I went to the local rescue shelter (I had volunteered there before, they are a no-kill facility) ~ a beautiful soul had just arrived, a boy golden, and he was terrified. I only got as close as he was comfy with, but he responded better to me than the employees.

Needless to say, we had a connection. I was told that he would be held for at least a week of rest, he had been abused by the former owners. I told them I would be there daily, I was already in love with him.

Went the next a.m. to visit, took family to meet him. HE WAS GONE!!! He had been adopted out!!! I was in tears. Carl didn't know what to do with me, I was so upset. We stayed for awhile to help out with the animals (they were short-staffed that day) like we normally do, and we met a new kitty that had been brought in... she was found at the middle-school right by our house, and kids were tying shoelaces around her neck. gah! a teacher works at PG, and took her in... she was so tiny, so scared, and her voicebox was toast because of the kids.

Needless to say, Carl fell in love with her, and we adopted her ... then about 10 days later, the phone rang... puppy's been brought back, they wanted a dog that laid around, not an active 2-3 year old... was I still interested... I was in the car pulling out of the driveway within 60 seconds!

So Barkley came to live with us, and I still had this strange connection with him. Still couldn't figure it out... until my mom came over. She started to come in the back door, and I was holding Barkley, and he darted out of my hands and started kissing my mom. My mom said "COOKIE, I'VE MISSED YOU!" ... we are convinced that was my mom's dog reincarnated. The same look, the same face, the same mannerisms, the same personality. Everything. Except for gender.

 some people don't believe that stuff, but I do! :D

I do too, Dawn & Diane, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if that's Sabrina in Franklin. Why not? I've seen stranger things happen!

It's nice to hear that Franklin has a mate & that she's named Sweetie, she must be a cutiepie!

I hope you feel better soon, Diane, what a drag to get a nasty virus in the middle of summer! I mean it's nice to be home, but not for that reason. Rest and get well soon, Diane.

It sure does sound as if Misty is getting ready to lay some eggs. At least she has the weight to support eggs! Sweetie's only 434g, so I'm really hoping she's done.

Take care Diane, lots of rest and lots of liquid.
Hugs to you & Gizmo, hope he's having good days now,
Deb

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
