I went back to the pet expo this afternoon to do some shopping (Saturday was just for Pookie, for him to be the center of attention) and take photos of other animals there.

Two of the many rescued parrots. The one in the back had plucked all of his feathers from his belly :(

Another rescued parrot with her new daddy, wearing a modified bird version of the cone of shame (she chewed through/out the regular cone within hours):

A beautiful wolf that's there for educational purposes:

She's huge!

I've heard that birds can do that when they're stressed or sick, poor parrot. I liked the moditifed "cone of shame", hopefully her new daddy will give her the love she needs to stop what she was doing.

That is one beautiful wolf. Did the educator explain how different wolves are to dogs? I've seen so many disasters on TV and the internet of people who take in wolves without doing any research. They need to be handled so much differently than dogs...

Those who had plucked out their feathers had different reasons as to why they did: some were from malnutrition, while others were from neglect (left alone). It broke my heart to see them like that.

He did explain that wolves are not dogs, and vice versa. The most important message he wanted everyone to hear and understand was that you can't domesticate a wolf, but they are capable of being "socialized" to the human world.

I think Digi is finally ready for brumation, now that it's almost over.

All weekend long, she stayed inside her house and had no desire to come out to play. When she woke up in the morning, she calmly walked out of her cave and plopped down on top of the alligator stuffy. She stayed there all day with no pacing nor reactions to Pookie in front of her house.

Since she went inside her cave for night night on Monday, she hadn't been seen until just a few hours ago, when she popped her head out. I was quite surprised that she ate some greens.

Oh, I just remembered a funny. Well, it was funny to me. While I was feeding Digi, I saw a gray spot on MoMo's tail (the bottom half was sticking out from under her cave). I moved her tail away from the cave wall so it'd get more light. I had to move it a little more because I still couldn't see the spot that well. After I was done investigating (it was just a shadow from the way her tail was curved and where it was in relation to the bottom of the cave), I pushed her tail back to where it was, then I peeked into her cave to see if she even realized what I had done. Well, to my amazement (and amusement), I saw a  look peering back at me, with a few annoyed glances back at her tail. :laughing6: Of course, I had to apologize after saying hello to her. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough for MoMo to get up and out :(

Beautiful pictures from the expo. I bet Pookie had a ton of fun out and about with his momma. BTW your beds are almost done. I am making 4 and picked some really nice fabrics from my stash that I will never use up. When done I will let you know so I can get them to you.

Pookie always has a blast whenever we go out, especially if there are children involved. He loves kids, and the younger the better. It's really strange, since I have no kids nor had ever introduced him to any until he was past 2 or 3 years old. From his first encounter (my cousin's kids), he was hooked.

Now if you don't like my all in one bed you don't have to accept it. The pillow is attached to the bed itself which has cotton quilt batting in it and the blanket is attached to the bed. I used Emmett for measurements so it fits an adult perfectly. It will be easy to wash since its one piece.

Now remember I shake a lot so the seams may not be perfect and I know they aren't. Its a bed and I did the best I could for you on it. Without a pattern and just a picture to go on, it wasn't easy
The "minkey" bed is done in totality now. Again if you don't like them you don't have to accept them.

This one is quilted also and is all in one, everything is stitched together for ease of use and washing.

I love them! I know there's no way that I could've done that with hand sewing and not being able to see closer than arms' length.

These will be the Christmas presents that they never got

If it's too much for your eyes, it's ok. I wouldn't want to stress you out. But if you're willing, I'd be more than grateful.

They are not perfect and may be a little lopsided, but I have your 5 beds done. 3 do not have the pillows attached as trying to attach them kept breaking machine needles. The pillows or bed is just to thick. They are all quilted with attached blankets. I hope you don't mind OLAF the snowman from Frozen movie
Again if you don't like them you don't have to accept them. I am not the perfect seamstress and get things lopsided, or uneven..gives them character

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
