You can get ceramic tiles at home stores for practically nothing. You might ask someone in the flooring department if they either have some left-over or sample tiles you can buy for a few bucks. We actually got ours free 'cos the guy working that day keeps snakes. You only need 2 18 x 18 tiles for a 40-gallon breeder tank. And it doesn't matter if they match - your beardie couldn't care less. I actually turned ours over so the textured ugly side was up, because Richard hated walking on the slicker "pretty" side.
Anything with adhesive (self-stick vinyl tile, stick-on shelf liner, or anything you'd have to tape down) would be dangerous because the heat of the basking light would cause the adhesive to give off gasses that could be dangerous to your beardie. Even regular vinyl tile might degass a little, so skip that as well.
Whatever you use, make sure it's easy to clean. I think the repticarpet is a pain. Richard only ever poops in the tub, so his viv doesn't get stinky or stained. Dubs, however, poops on either the most inconvenient thing in his viv, or something I've just finished washing. He has a real talent for it. He has repticarpet and I vacuum it once or twice a week and wash it every couple of weeks (his viv is 36" per side with a rounded front, so my husband had to cut a bunch of pieces specially to fit it). I may be sensitive, but I don't think it ever smells right. When it gets too gross to keep I'm going to replace it with non-adhesive shelf liner. There are plenty of things in his viv to hold it down and I know it's easy to clean and replace.
