we researched to see what to use and we used styrofoam to build the rocks and made sure that there was no rly straigh edges and then we used grout about 3 layers then we used paint after the paint we used elmers wood glue and put water to make it runny as the sealant.

Idea maybe a bridge between them... give the whole tank another level

I'd suggest making them a little bit smoother. You want it just rough enough for your beardie to be able to get traction on it... anything more than that will just make a huge pain to clean if your beardie poos on it.
