Old enough for sand?

Sand is never a good idea. Stick to a solid substrate like tile or non adhesive shelf covering. Especially if you feed inside the enclosure.
Impaction is something you don't want to deal with.

I agree that sand isn't a good idea due to the impaction risk. Plus, it's impossible to clean up all the poop & liquid which can cause bacteria to grow, that is certainly another health issue.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
