Watch out for "calcium sand" too that's another one.
That said the biggest thing to watch out for to avoid problems is to make sure your animal gets proper temps and hydration. That's the key and surprisingly they can handle more than you think... that said don't push your luck with those products. Also feeding from a dish can help too if concerned about him injesting too much substrate accidentally.
