It is a mercury vapor bulb their good for ur dragons they provide uvb rays if u dont have one u should get one

Hi yes mercury vapor bulbs emit uvb but they also emit heat which is what makes them different then a regular flourescent uvb tube like the reptisun.The other great thing about these is that they last a year as opposed to the 6mos a regular uvb bulb lasts.They are the absolute best form ov lighting you can get for your beardie.Here is a link to the bulbs I use:

Yes this bulb would act as both heat and uvb.As for nightime you really shouldnt have any lights on even the infared red or blue bulbs can disrupt their sleeping patterns.As long as your temps dont fall below 65F then yor do not need a heat source of they do then I recommend investing in a ceramic heat emitter.This is a bulb(of sorts) that does not emit light of any kind only heat.

I'd highly recommend the all-in-one lamps over any others. The danger with fluorescent UV lamps is that you have to make sure the beardies get close enough to benefit from the UV (and don't believe the depths it says on the packaging). I know a lot of people here use them, but I've had nothing but problems with my beardies getting enough UV with fluorescent bulbs. I've had no issues with my 100W MVB.

I have to giggle at the use of "infrared," though. And I'm not meaning any disrespect. But regular incandescent lights emit most of their radiation in infrared, not in the visible (this is why they are so inefficient); those red basking bulbs emit a larger percentage of their light in the IR. However, the only fully IR lamp is the ceramic heat emitter: they only emit light in the IR.
