Draper is our new addition to the family. He's about 12 weeks old, and just hit 10" long. At first he wasn't eating much (got him 2 weeks ago). But now he's doing great! Phoenix worms are his favorite!

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=169590 <--- a thread I started about Draper a couple of days after we got him....we were worried and just wanted the best care for him. Thanks for all the help! We're still trying to get him to eat more fruit and veg...

Here are some new pics of Draper.

Every night at around 8:30, Draper gets very sleepy. He loves his blanket.

He likes to show off his colors when he's out of the cage.

Basking in the morning, he seems to get really dark.

You can always put back his basking log & then bake it when he's done all the meds & put it into his new spot. You don't have to remove all his favourite things from his tank while he's on meds. I didn't move anything of Gabriel's. So think about that, as that might help him feel better. Do you feed him 1st before giving him his meds? When Gabriel was taking panacur, I always fed him first, even if it was chicken w/veg & butternut squash babyfood, then the meds, then the probiotic. that really helped, as he kept his appetite up & actually gained weight while being dosed. See if that make Mr. Draper feel better.
Nice new Viv, he's going to enjoy it once it's done. Just make sure all his things are in the same places as in the old & he won't go through as much relocation stress, if any. :D

We gave in and put his stuff back in a few days ago. :p I've baked his furniture in the oven 3 times now. We also put him in the new clean viv. He's been eating a liile veg and 4-5 of the medium dubia a day....and 25-30 phoenix worms! He's also now over 15" long...so didnt stop growing much.

Wow, great viv, so organized & I never thought to use flax seed for the digging instead of sand. That's a great idea. The flax seeds won't harm him at all if he swallows some! He sure looked happy to be able to dig, too funny! And the rest of his viv is great, a place to hide to sleep, really nice basking logs & a hammock, what more could a beardie want. It's also nice & tall and wide, so he'll just grow into it. Wonderful viv & you have a place for everything. So he's done with the parasites? GOOD!

Draper had his follow up vet visit today.

0 pin worms
and
1-3 coccidia....which is low enough to 'keep an eye on', but not going to medicate further. We just have to keep up on the frequent cleaning.

Although Reptaid isn't something that has been studied enough to 'recommend'.....*wink wink*.

So, good news!

Draper's had many adventures in the past couple days! Lots of exploring our house, and hanging out with the cats!

Weighed him today and he's a whopping 218g! :p

The cool side shouldn't be more than 80F at any time. And he might find the basking spot a bit hot, maybe lower it to 104F, see if that makes a difference. The probiotics will only help. I'm wondering about the Reptaid, it has an herbal base, but you should look up the ingredients & what they mean, it's not meant for healthy beardies & may be causing the runs. So check that out. I can't see anything else wrong, he has a great viv & I know you give him the best care. Wish I could help further!

Thanks for the reply.

We started the repaid a few days after we noticed the runny poop....only after we noticed it being not digested well. We've read about reptaid for a while, and have been in contact with Eliot while Draper was on the panacur and other meds from the vet. I decided not to use the reptaid until well after he was done with the medication. If we don't see any changes for the next week or so, we're going to schedule a vet visit. Although he seems to be doing well, gaining weight, acting normal....there has to be something wrong.

The coolside is generally 77-82, depending on how warm the house is. Today it was between 79 and 80.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
