Lexia,Kinno,Bobble,Chimaira&Hadyn. Pictures

Hello,

This is the story of how we got our two baby dragons. It all started when my daughter brought home a beardie the whole family fell in love with him. You know some teens get when they get moody *dont touch him hes my beardie* gah it hurt because everyone loved him and played with him fed him we all pitched in. She even go so moody one day she moved his viv to her room so no one could see or play with him. (girls and pms :roll: )So i made a thread http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=98235 * I want a BD for myself* i guess there was a few people who were in the same boat as me. Being a BD grandma is tuff! (She of course got over it and moved him back down stairs) I wanted to get one who might need a little more care or love thought first thing *rescue* I was checking cragelist daily not one bd post in the weeks i was looking. Then a breeder(DistDrag) posted on the thread letting me know he had 2 babys just hatched out that had small issues, one with a crooked tail and one with a leg that didnt work. They were the cutest things! I still had to get the ok from my hubby once he seen those pics he was hooked!! So he let me take them both! They were still way to young for me to get yet so we were happy to leave them with the breeder(DistDrag)till they were safe to travel. He kept us posted on how they were doing and posted updated pictures. The day came to where they were ready to be sent to us. Oh boy i was so excited i couldnt sleep and kept a eye out the window for them to get here! <-- that was me 10 fold lol I heard the UPS man drive up and i was out the door!

This is the one with the left foot that dosnt work(My hubbys) He/she dosnt have a name yet.

This is the one with the kink in the tail. I call her Roo short for Kangaroo.

Heres a comparison between Chimera and Roo.

They are both from the same clutch they are 1 month 1 week old and 6 1/2 inches long.

We will never let more than 1 of beardies to be out of their viv's at one time. Except for the 2 new babys just for a while so we can sit and watch tv with them to get them used to us. They both have their own vivs. I have to say ty to everyone! I have learned so much since i have joined! I dont think our babys would be as healthy as they are if it wasnt for all of you!

It was a nice day outside. It hit 80 in the shade I took Lexia out and put her in the new outside tub where they can soak up the sun and feel safe and have some room to roam around. Shes sheading so shes a bit off atm.

I dont know what she was looking at but she wasnt letting it out of her sight.

I reached down to pick her up and she puffed up at me.

There were some clouds floating by and I don't think they like clouds.

Roo didn't stay out long she just looked to unhappy and wanted to hide. Hopefully the big bad clouds go away soon! Cause I don't like it when they are unhappy outside usually they are all white bellys and enjoy it. Never seen Roo puff up like that either stupid clouds :| The new guy should be here in the morning. I'm hopping the sliders get installed tonight gonna have to push the hubby to get them in! :whip: :whip: Oh and tile shopping also tonight woot! :laughhard: hes gonna LOVE me!

Those shots really are priceless. Yes dear you are definatly scaring away those ebil clouds.

Ive no idea why some dragons seem to adore the outside and some hate it. Its still not warm enough here to let my two loose. Im pretty certain that Miso will love it and Ruben will give me a tail whipping for my trouble.

That is wonderful. Congrats. I am new to having Beardies and I have 1.5 month old myself. I noticed you said you can get them to drink water from your finger. How do you do that? I have been getting mine to drink for a week now with no luck. I am worried he isn't getting enough water. I spritz his vegies but haven't seen him near them yet and I have tried putting a few drops a couple times a day on his nose but never see him drink it. I got him last Wednesday and I gave him a bath on Thursday but haven't since. Should I give him another one?

Only one out of my 4 will drink from the dish. I give them all baths. You can bathe a beardie in luke warm water up to their armpits for 20 mins this keeps them hydrated. Everyone does this diffrently I give all my beardies baths everyday time frames are diffrent. Babys get them everyday for 10 mins due to the higher basking temps. Older ones get 20 mins soaking time 3 days a week. The older ones get a bath every morning intill they poo which isnt long usually 2 to 5 mins.They poo in the water that means they dont poo in their vivs if your lucky. One of mine will not poo in his viv he will hold it intill you bathe him. Babys eat so much that they can poo up to 3 to 4 times a day so this wont work intill they hit about 4 to 6 months or intill you notice that they are only going once a day. Lexia will drink from her bath and her water dish. I still give her baths just to make sure she keeps hydrated. Some love the bath and some hate the bath

Viv is finally finished and I put the babys in this am. Hubby wanted to wait one more day. Wow makes them look so small :shock:

You can barley see them.

Lexia is loving the new cage white belly and all (shes sheading so shes a bit irritated so shes has dark specks)

You cant see me up in my tree.

Roo well lets just say shes not as pleased as lexia is :roll:

It looks like shes looking at the camera nope shes eyeing the back door..

She has a white belly and all but she can see out our back sliding door Roo hates windows Shes like a deer in headlights. She normaly hides under her carpet if i open any of my blinds. She will have to get used to it im afraid this house is loaded with them.
The new guy should be here in a few hours I can't wait. Every truck I hear I look to see if its for me :laughhard:

UPS guy pulls up and I'm waiting for him and he hands me two boxes none said "Live Reptile" nothing so my heart sank it was the stupid computer stuff my hubby ordered for my older daughter. So I asked him do you have one more package it has a live reptile in it. He looks thru and says yep I sure do and hands it to me. I get in the house and take a deep breath and start opening the box.......
Its a big box too lol

I see his birth cert. Woot gonna frame them all!

I take off the top and this is what i see.

Here he is! His back is in shead. I'll wait to give him a bath. Don't need another one thinking im the mean bath lady :roll:

I put him in his new home so he can get warm he was a little chilled but not bad at all

I put him some veggies and crickets in a bowl just incase when he warms up he might be hungry.

After he warmed up and seen me walk by to check on them all.

I didnt really think he was going to be as big as he was but for him being 3 months holy cow! DistDrag must soak them in mirical grow
:laughhard: After he got all warmed up he still has a nice white belly but hes scared. I feel bad for the poor guy when my girls get home from school :shock: Not that they are going to reach in and grab him they will be laying on the floor staring at him. I don't really let them handle Roo and Lexia to much wanted to give them a little more time to grow before they can be set free with the teens of the house.

No name yet to many I like figured I'd wait intill he was here a few days to choose one.

Oh congrats!! He is so handsome!!! I can't wait to see what name you pick!! Mine isn't going to be here until Friday now. I am so sad. I got chills when I was watching you open the box!!!

He is HUGE for 3 months!! How long is he from nose to tail? Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!

Hes 14" nose to tail. Our 8 month old is 16" :shock: My hubby picked out a name for him and the kids love it so hes now known as Kinnokami meaning "realy cool" :shock: So I'll call him Kinno for short lol

Everyone is enjoying their new home Roo is hating the back door but I'm sure she will get used to it i hope so she can stop hugging her tree she has a death grip on it :roll: Lexia is zooming around in her new viv she loves it! Kinno he acts like hes been part of the family all along. Relaxed eating like a pig you put your hand in to pet him and he climbs on to be taken out. I hope it stays like this!

Well, "little boy" isnt exactly correct is it? He really looks about 5 months old at his size! :lol:

Nope hes Leucistic/Tang/Citrus x Leucistic. Hes the size Chimaira was at 6 months :shock: And we fed Chimaira as much as he wanted. When he gets good n warm all his colors remind me of Easter pastel yellow, orange and lavender on his sides. I know the names a bit off what I'd choose. But its better than the other names they wanted *Opiate* *Opium* *Cocaine* cause beardies are like a drug :shock: 8) Hehe he pooed on my youngest I told her to leave him be because he hadn't went yet so I didn't know when he would go she wouldn't listen to me so he showed her mommie knows best! :laughhard: Todays a rest day for me I've wore myself out trying to get the vivs fixed. I have the basking temps set for now but still need to make their basking platforms this weekend. Intill we go on our trip to get their basking branches in a few weeks.

Hows Ruben and Miso doing today? I hope they are being good for you.
