So that makes him about 6", right? At 6" I would guess 5-6 weeks old. Assuming he's that old, that is a good size.

8. The UVB should be a ReptiSun 10.0 UVB tube and it should be mounted inside the tank. The reason being that the screen filters out 50% of the UVB. To do it, you can buy an under the counter light fixture at Walmart and 3M Command Hooks.

11. Your dragon should be about to get within 6"-8" of it and no more than that.

12. You need a basking bulb. The UVB is harmful to their eyes without it and you can't get the proper temps without one. I use a low watt flood light with a lamp dimmer switch because it is easier to control the temperature and flood lights are cheaper than basking bulbs and last longer.

11. At his age, his basking spot should be closer to 110. Once he is a sub-adult/adult 95-105 is best.

15. That thermometer cannot take accurate temperatures. It can be up to 20 degrees off. You'll want to buy either a digital temp gun or a probe for best readings. You'll also want to take the temp from where he basks and not just the warm side.

17. Ditch the heat pad. Beardies can't feel heat through their bellies and can easily burn on it.

18. Ditch the kale. It is a calcium binder and she be fed 1x a week at most. Collards, mustards, and turnip greens are the most common green staple. If you go to beautiful dragons.com they are a huge chart under nutrition of what to feed and how often.

19. Does he get 1 hour to bask before eating and 2 hours to bask after eating?

21. Calcium should be done on one meal 5x a week like you're doing and vitamins should be 2x a week.

23. Up baths to every 2-3 days. It should be warm water up to his shoulders for 15-20 minutes and every day when shedding.

24. You don't need the water bowl but as long as its small, it's all right. Ditch the misting all together because it is virtually useless and can raise humidity and cause URI.

Hope this helps!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
