Is it true that if you dont feed your beardie bigger crickets or food that it will not grow? Like with snakes?

Not that I know of. If you keep feeding your dragon smaller crickets as he/she grows, they'll just eat more crickets due to the size. Getting larger crickets as your dragon grows saves money actually. The main reason for the size of crickets with dragons is to make sure you don't feed any crickets that are too large that will cause impaction or lack of proper digestion.

Dragon growth is not regulated by the size of their food or their habitat. Small prey items just means they will eat way more of that item.

No, that's not true. Beardies will just eat more to compensate for a smaller-sized feeder.

And, besides.. Snakes will still grow when they are given prey too small, it's their heads that won't grow as much.

that's a good size for him. Just make sure that you're not feeding him anything that doesn't fit in the space between his eyes.

Just wondering where in the world the "snake's head not growing" info came from??
Never heard of any such thing. :?:

I said it wouldn't grow as much - which may have been poorly worded. I still didn't say it wouldn't grow. I have seen cases of snakes being fed rodents that are too small which does not allow for the head of a snake to grow as it should - and allow for it to stretch to eat a proper sized prey item. But, who knows, I've seen several conversations about it, too - but *shrug* it's the internet. It and I could could be wrong.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
