I call forth Alucard

As you all know, Vash passed away..so sad.
But now I got a new guy, I will send pics
here not on another thread...he's very
stressed being shipped from Florida...I
got one before he wanted to hide.

Skin still isn't ready to come off but grey
he will get another bath. One molly died
I had no idea he was stuck on the filter
he broke his back when I got him free, he
was fine before that, so that blows! Diablo
is doing a lot better, turned on his light
and Alucard's light and he didn't bolt to
hide under the castle, so that's great he
must doing better. I have two crix ready
to make babies under some eco earth in
my spare 8 gallon tank, I will move them.
I have a 5 gallon for a nursery, I might want
to upgrade that as they have 200 babies. I
was wrong I have 6 females and 5 males for
Diablo...but he's ok with frozen bloodworms
for now. I'm gonna do baby food with
mustard greens dusted with calcium, doing
multi vitamin Tues and Thur. It's going to
be a slurry. So I'm going to get going as Alucard
found out that he's on schedule and wants
breakfast at 10, lunch is 3 and dinner is 8,
he sleeps at 9.

Gave him food wouldn't eat, but bathed
him and he pooped in it. So gonna try
food again. Thanks Scribble, it was just
terrible, I didn't see him, it was too late.
He was far gone to be saved poor fish.
Gonna give another bath for 10 minutes.

Well, Alucard rather play more than eat.
He takes a few bites of everything then
feels he's done and goes to run around or
sit still to bask a while, is this at all
normal? I mean he did come home on Fri
the 3rd of October, so only 3 days. Is
this part of relocation stress, he still has
the marks since Friday. I just hope he
eats more as he settles in a bit more
comfortable. He's not eating a lot unless
he wants and that's not too often.

Hello,

It sounds like he is doing very well & growing fast! I am happy to hear that, he will eat you out of house & home, too.
It will likely take him a week or so to get all settled in though, so be patient with him.

That's good to know, glad it's nothing
serious, I will get more crickets tomorrow.
He only ate 3 to 5 right now and one bite
of everything else. I will ask the pet store if
they have any tiny worms, not the freeze
dried stuff. I heard it's not great in protein.

Sorry to hear about your molly. We've had that happen in the past when we had fish too.

Great to hear that Diablo is doing better & not hiding now. Bet he does love the bloodworms, I know exactly what those are. Fish sure love them too.

It is normal for babies to be very active, that's a good sign. Tracie's right, he will settle in soon and start eating a lot more.

It was aweful now I have one molly
a platy and two scissortail rasboras.
I'm glad he's ok and this is normal.
I thought he was starving himself
because he just doesn't want to eat,
maybe he thinks the most boring part
of the day. He ate a few drops of baby
food for breakfast, lunch he had one bite
of dragon bites and will feed him some
crix which will mean full 20 tomorrow
since my keeper can hold 20 at a time.

Mom said she will buy 20
crix. I gotta be careful as to not
eat each other, how would I go
about that? I want them to last
enough to not go back to the
pet store the next day. I know
I should but, she gets paid next
Friday. He ate 5 crix.

I kept my crickets (I've switched to roaches) in a 20g tank with a screen top and they lived in cardboard tubes. I could easily keep 1000 in a tank that size so if you have a decently sized rubbermaid container you can probably keep them in there for a while. You'll need to clean the bin regularly and swap out fresh veggie scraps or similar for them to eat though.

He ate 7 now and I'm out of crix.
So a full 20 tomorrow, money is
tight but at least he has a chubby
stomach now :lol:. Alucard is in better
hands then saying "well it's over, I can't
keep up with bugs". I don't give up... ever
I don't go down that easy! I will try my
best to keep up with them. He has to
have 80% no matter how he gets it, minus
the eggs...don't like feeding that often.
Plus I'm not supposed to. He does have
meat baby food but only a few drops
(stage 1). I put it on greens to entice him
to eat more dragon bites it has protein.
Skin is now coming off his nose, so he's shedding.

We're waiting for my brother to get
ready. He takes a long time, that's
ok, pet shop opens at 10...or 9, I
forget. He needs his glasses done,
it hurts his nose.

I'm going to buy or order mini supers
from the shop, either way I get them.
Buying 20 crix, keeper is set up.

Fed Alucard breakfast. No crix so I used
baby food and mustards again to entice.
He still eats it all. Protien and greens,
good choice. Mom was nice enough to
make an egg just for Alucard, I was
hesitant to taking it because I really
didn't want to do this, so I mixed it with
his other food. He ate it like before. I
do want to boost his protien but not like
this. So a bath today since he is still
shedding his nose and mouth like crazy.
Scratching himself and rubbing himself
on things to get it off.
So I thought I'd let you know how he's
doing.

We got 24, fed him some, one is lose
in my room. I have maybe 19 or 20
left. If I ever find that one , I'll have 20.
I never notice my dragons growing
because I see them everyday. It's sad
I know lol. Is it ok if he ate a piece of
egg? I mean usually crix for breakfast but
had none.
