How do you guys deal with the smell?

I really need to find a way to make his pee and poop stop stinking up my whole room any advice?

The best substrate to use is non adhesive shelf liner or paper towels & clean it up when he does his thing. The reptile carpet is ok, but you will need 2, one to wash & dry while the other is in use. Mine won’t poop in the tank, he can’t stand the smell either.

Yeah quick cleaning and thorough disinfecting helps a lot. I suggest having some F10 disinfectant on hand so you can clean up a mess and then disinfect it which will cut down on the smell quite a lot.

So is Flunkers terrarium cleaner good? I saw that online

I guess Basil's poop does not smell all that horrible ( I may be used to it). My boyfriend doesn't even complain about it though, so who knows.

Luckily, I always wake up to find that Basil has left me a present in the morning, so it usually gets cleaned up right away and that helps.

I haven't tried the flukers cleaner. It looks like it's designed to dissolve dirt and get things clean. I've found that vinegar and water works well for that and is much cheaper. The sanitizer comes into play after the surfaces have been cleaned. Hiccup is pooping in the same spot -- on the basking rock of course -- and its in the morning so I clean it up w/ vinegar and water spray and papertowels right away -- no smell after that --

The first 5 months we had our juvenile she would only go during her bath and it was so easy we just poured it down the toilet (her baths are in a large shallow plastic bin). Now she won’t go during baths anymore. We put a puppy pad in the tank and as soon as she goes we fold it up and take it out. Then we use a little spray of Febreeze in the room. The trash bag immediately goes all the way outside to the big trash can. I know nothing revolutionary here but it’s the quickest cleanup we can manage!
