sorry to hear about your gecko dying :(
you could always get another one or get a snake

I am sorry to hear about your gecko, in my opinion, the only downfall to having pets is having to deal with their lose.

Is the 30gal viv what you had been keeping your gecko in before he passed? if so make sure you throughly steralize the viv to kill any bacteria before introducing a new animal into the enclosure, that way the new animal wont contract any illnesses that may have contributed to the death of your gecko.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Anoles, Box turtles, Spotted turtles, and Pacman Frogs would be able to live in a 30 gallon, aswell as some smaller speices of snake like the sand boa, king snake, or milk snake. I've also heard a lot of people say that Ball Python's can be housed in a 30 gallon, however I wouldn't recomend it.

I agree with Zip a ball python should be in atleast a 40 gallon. Mine is only about 4 foot long and he fits
perfectly in a 40 gallon. A small tortoise would be nice, they live a long period of time. The frogs are
cool too and you could go hermit crabs too :)

Haha, scratch that idea than :laughhard:
There's still the other suggestions of frogs, anoles, and turtles/tortises though.

Sorry to hear about your leopard gecko. If it was me i think i'd get a turtle, they're pretty cute. Maybe you could get a spider? Pretty sure they can fit in 30gal. Although if your mum hates snakes she's bound to hate spiders too

I would get some brown anoles. They are twice as active as green anoles and if you get 3-4 of them you will have a pretty nice community in that 30 gallon. Other thing to remember is brown anoles breed easily.

Females only grow to about 2/3rds the size of the males and they lay 1 egg at a time.

I lived with them being wild in south florida so I am pretty versed in them after capturing and keeping my own tanks for years.

You could also get a group of pygmy chameleons.

Loved my pyg-meleons! But they have a short life span to begin with and they are easily stressed. Gotta weigh the pros & cons with them and make sure the set-up is just right.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
