I sit with them, or swim in the pool next to them when they are out side. There are 3 girls and 1 boy, the male does chase the girls around a bit, and at first we had a lot of waiving and head bobbing, but not just the male does the dominance thing, and the girls run away from him. He apparently knows he is a male and that he should start things, but is not sure what to do, so not fertile eggs. The girls seem to be over him and his antics, and usually turn their back to him. I have not had any fighting, but am always watching just to make sure, and they all have separate vivs.
As far as feeding goes, 4 of them keep from wasting vegies, and their live feeders, we bread, so after the start up there has been only minimal cost.
The big price comes in vet bills, and multiple lights and such. Time cleaning the vivs is also a pain, but worth it to keep them healthy. The biggest gift I can give to me, is give them all a short
bath each morning, to make sure their are no potty messes to clean up. Five min each morning for each dragon, allows me to enjoy them with minimal clean up.
I have a big fish net I drape over the pin, just in case. I would not want a bird to get to them.
