How many times a week am i suppose to dust my crickets
how about D3gulfbrzdawn":2xgqq3eb said:If you have a young beardie, you should dust the crickets 5 x a week with calcium(one feeding per day) and a multivitamin 2 x a week(one feeding per day).
An adult beardie gets calcium 3 x a week and multivitamin 1 x a week.

Aren't you suppose to use it without D3 and with D3.ClydesGirl":21fwnm16 said:Beardie818":21fwnm16 said:how about D3
If you are using a fluorescent tube for UVB, you should be using calcium powder with D3 in it. If you are using an MVB, you can use calcium powder without D3.

What part are you confused about? How often to dust or what to dust with or both?

If you are using a fluorescent tube for UVB, then you want to use a phosphorus-free calcium powder WITH D3. Again, I recommend the Rep-cal brand.
You also need to be using a multi-vitamin dust multiple times a week. I highly recommend Rep-Cal's Herptivite for this. The reason being that it uses beta carotene instead of synthetic vitamin A. Reptiles are at a high risk for vitamin A toxicity, so giving them synthetic vitamin A can be dangerous, whereas using beta carotene, beardies' bodies will convert as much of it as necessary into the vitamin A they need and there won't be excess vitamin A in their systems. So, it's safer.
Once you have the right types of powder for your dusting, follow the chart at the top of to find out how often you should dust with each type of powder based on your beardie's age.
