What is a fair offer for this mega colony?

He is leaving the hobby...

I am broke, but don't want to offer him $10 lol.

I would offer 30... If you don't need that many dubia, which you probably do since you want to buy it, but if you don't, I need some really bad like I'm in desperate need but cant find any at a good price, I could paypal you half of what you pay him and you can give me what you don't need. If not could you tell me where you found such an awesome deal.

Its hard to see how much poop/debris is in there. But I'd be suprized if he took less than a couple hundred for that. Probably more if those are babies in the center of the first picture and not junk. I'm suprized he doesn't just sort them and sell them in smaller groups to make a buncha money.

I keep looking at the 2nd picture trying to grasp how deep they are. I can't tell if its an inch or 4 inches deep. I'm guessing around 3 - 3 1/2 inches deep.

Is this a friend, or some random craigslist person? If money is a problem, if you get them cheap enough you could sell some to make your money back and get a nice colony for free.

It is someone who has been on a trusted site for a while. He has mostly good reviews, so I trust him (but I don't know him too well.)

How much do you figure I could resell it for? If i can make my money back, I'll buy it and resell it here... But keep a thousand or two :twisted:

How mug should I offer him? If needed to (just for my peace of mind) how much can I resell this for if I sold the roaches for dirt cheap? I just really want to get my pets a better feeder and get away from crickets for a while... I hope it doesn't break the bank.

I would offer at least 40 - 60..... To resell them I would do 50 cents or lower per adult female, some places do adult males for free so that's up to you, then I would do... smalls 1/4" - 1/2", 50 for $5, 100 for $10, 200 for $15, 300 for $20, etc, then mediums 5/8" - 7/8", 50 for $10, 100 for $15, 200 for $20, 300 for $25, etc. And then large anything bigger than 7/8" but not adults yet, 50 for $15, 100 for $20, 200 for $25, 300 for $30, etc.

You could either lower or higher prices to your standards, but I've researched alot of sites and those prices are a slight bit cheaper than the cheapest site I've been on.

And If you do decide to sell some I would definitely like to purchase

I am now awaiting his response... I want to see what he has in mind for price first, and then I'll work him down. I bet it will be pricy though (after all, that is at least 4000 roaches!!!).

If it's at least 4000 roaches, I'd be offering around $200 and expecting to pay $250. If I were selling, I'd be asking for $350-400. Offering something like $40-60 for that amount of roaches would be a little insulting for the seller.

If you don't have much money, see how much he'll give you for however much you're willing to spend. You can still probably come away with enough feeders to start a decently sized colony that will only grow as time goes on.
