I have a one year old beardie that i love to hold alot, but i also have a short legged jack russel terrier that is really :blob5: hyper :blob8: . I am not sure if it is safe to put my beardie on the floor with the dog around or not.

I probably wouldn't put the beardie on the floor with the dog around. Terriers were bred to hunt and have pretty intense hunting instincts. Beardies tend to run around and that will attract unwanted terrier attention. One bite would most likely be deadly  and wouldn't be worth the risk....

I have a JRT mix (believe me she is full-blown JRT hyper). For about a year I did not let her in the room when I had Lilly running around. I then introduced them slowly by allowing Jackie (my JRT) to sniff her while I was holding both then I would let Lilly run around while holding Jackie. Jackie's learned that Lilly is friend not food and does nothing more but kiss her and occasionally accidentally step on her tail (this is what I have to be most careful of). They are not friends, by any standard, but they do put up with each other. They even share food sometimes. If you have doubts, however, I would ALWAYS err on the side of caution.

I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Once Albi was walking on the floor and the Dog (Max) came running in, Albi just stood there, max took a sniff of him and walked away.
But I won't leave Albi on the floor if I know Max is around, just in case, never can be too sure.

My dog is raised with so many small animals and is calm my beardie sits on her at times. With a hyper prey driven JRT I would prolly be careful. I have worked with alot of prey driven dogs and it gets over too quick. Do it slow and it might work only you know your dog.

prey driven dog can be so unpredictable with small animals, I wouldn't risk it. I have Dachshunds and my male Snoopy, never bothered my dragons, not even the babies. He liked watched them and would follow Barney around when he was running loose and never showed any signs of wanting to attack him.

A few months ago I got a blue tongue skink, snoopy was interested in him but not too much until one day out of the blue, Snoopy jumped on my lap and bit the skink on the head. Now all Snoopy wants to do it try and attack the skink. I either lock snoopy outside for skinky free roam time or take Puff out in the yard to run around. I'll never trust him around another small animal.

Im with ya on that one Gail. Tasha I know I can trust but my other dog I had before I had a pittie. She was trained to kill small animals. Ig ot her to stop attacking my cages. but I never dared to take them out around her, she was a bit TOO interested. She even killed a baby bird outside that I still today have no clue how she got hold of. Hyper don't always mean prey driven however, but a quick dash canbe all it takes to trigger it. Tasha is trained to perfection, but a lot of dogs would instinctively grab for it just out of that the quick motion.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
