Thanks for sharing your cancer survivor story.PudgysMom":2pk4il5w said:I myself am a three-time cancer survivor. Lymphoma was one of those cancers.
She is very alert and she did fight him, though I have to say she really didn't go all blackbeard on us. She was such a good little lizard.
So here is what is happening right now:
He is keeping her overnight (I am just trying not to think too much about this. I am so worried that she is scared, but at the same time I know she will be well taken care of).
In the morning he will be doing a full work up of blood. They will test for cancer, do a CBC, look at her thyroid, etc..
He'll also be doing x-rays. This will help better determine tumors/eggs/sand impactation/etc.
There is one more. UGH I cannot remember the name of it. Short name. Starts with a C. Is $36 for that one. He will do it in-house.
This new vet is much further away, but much more thorough and involved. My boyfriend said to me that he just seemed to also take more interest in general.
Thank you all for your continued support and good thoughts. I will absolutely keep everyone posted. I am going to change Pudgy's substrate right now. He said to just use newspaper for now. Is that ok? And will the ink hurt her?

Newspaper will be fine. So glad you found a vet that cares, I do not find it acceptable the other vet, a herp vet, missed something so important. It seems routine to do x rays and bloodwork in a sick animal.
A note on keeping overnight, not necessarily for you, but for others reading in general. I have worked for vets before and unless I see the back where they will be staying and unless there is a staff member on site 24/7 (or I have been promised someone from the staff is going to take my pet home with them) I do not leave my pet in their care overnight ever. Many people are surprised to find out that some vet offices just have small metal and concrete cages and leave the pets completely unsupervised overnight. It seems so wrong that many people don't even question it, but it happens way too often. Wishing the best for your BD! Please keep us updated.

I was told when I bought Ridge in that day that it would have to be "quite a story for him to be impacted" ...two weeks of not pooping/dragging his hind legs and a second vet visit today and she agreed he was impacted.
Read the article with Pudgy at the office...amazing story! Still wishing you both the best.

I am sorry about the misdiagnosis! It is not your fault, but unfortunately this happens fairly often.
I am sorry to hear about your bout with cancer, also. Too many people & animals are getting cancer. It is the environment & the water & food.
How much Fortaz was prescribed & what was the concentration of it? Is she off of it now, or did the vet say what to do?
When you get the blood tests done, can you send me a copy of them, that would be great to look over them. Thanks.
Do you know when they will be done or ready?
Keep us posted on her!

Just talked with Dr. B. He said there is nothing alarming in the x-rays (okay, so then what are those masses we felt?????) :?: :?:
BUT her cytology (that is the name of the test I couldn't remember!) came back off, and suggests an infection. So now we wait on the blodwork results.
Leaving my office to go get my baby!!!!! :headbang:
I am going to be going nuts until we get the bloodwork back on Friday!
Thank you all, so much, for your support. :notworthy:
