Crickets aren't cheap. They require a lot of maintenance to keep they're reek down. They die very easily and are escape artists. I would look into alternatives like dubias.

My mom said that she will let crickets come into her house because she doesn't mind them but she won't let me get dubia's.

Hahah, wait until she gets a wiff of them. Even Mike Rowe on Dirty Jobs almost tossed his cookies after taking a wiff in the cricket breeders bins.

Also by the time you feed 300 crickets probably 50 have died they are just soo hard to keep alive. I did a lot of reading on Dubias especially on infestation issues and it turns out you would be more likely to have an infestation of the crickets. These roaches need certain conditions and each other to mate to many variables it could not happen they would probably die before they ever got out of the room they were in. Its worth trying to convince them.

depending on what "large quantities" means...

Call or email Ghann's and ask about their "breeder program"...

they will send you the information....much cheaper than their normal rates
you have to be a breeder to rate under their breeder program. they do check references.

They are not hard to breed in a house....why do we have so mny infestations of them? I hate crickets and can't wait till the youngins start eating mainly veggies.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
