I have never heard of this being done with beardies but I am not sure.

If you are dusting 1 feeding a day with calcium 5x a week and vitamins 2x a week (or calcium 2-3x a week and vitamins 1-2x a week for an adult) then you will be giving them enough calcium and vitamins and shouln't need a bowl.

Hi, new beardie owner here. I will introduce myself in a little bit when I can do so with a decent picture. Anyway, regarding the calcium.... How much calcium and or multivitamins do you need to sprinkle the feeders with? Our almost 4-month-old eats reptiworms. I tried giving him liquid, but he's stubborn and it stresses me out wondering if he got enough. Now we are experimenting with the powder supplements. Thanks!

I know one of mine will lick up bits of calcium carbonate left on the floor of his tank after putting in dusted crickets. I've never tried just putting a dish in with it. I would think they might if you put just a little in the bottom of a food dish, not enough to dig in.

Ziggydragon, the standard answer if your feeding mostly crickets, its dust them 5x a week with calcium, and 2x a week with multi-vitamin, so your doing one dusting a day. If your feeding primarily black soldier fly larvae (phoenix worms or reptiworms,) you wouldn't need to add as much calcium, as the calcium: phosphorus ratio is pretty good to start with. You don't want to overdo the calcium, as that can start a while other line of problems. I'd suggest searching other threads, or starting a new one as to how much calcium to supplement with bsf larvae, I'm sure there are people here with exact answers. It also would depend on the type and strength of the liquid calcium supplement you have. Here's a site that will give you some good info.

As long as you supplement with multivitamins and calcium on a regular basis you don't need to put out a calcium dish for him. When you're dusting the crickets, you only need to add a tiny pinch. Don't go overboard, thinking more is better. In fact, it is not. Your bearded's body can only use so much of it. Being on the conservative side is better than supplementing too much because should the problems arise it is much easier to fix.

It is also a good idea to feed and water your insects well ahead of time. The healthier the preys the more nutritious they are and your your pet will benefit greatly from eating healthy preys.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
