My beardie has a warped claw. It comes out normaly, but curves to the left instead of down. I just noticed this, I think that it was from jumping. He looks to be in pain, help! It's on his hind leg. :shock:

take him to a vet so they can set it and hopfuly it heals nice and fine. Though it might be MBD do you have a UVB?A or a MVB?
Are you giveing him calcium? what are the temps?

Can you take a picture of it? If you touch it does he flinch?

When you say that he seems in pain,how can you be sure? If it's not a serious wound,it will likely be fine on it's own.

Our beardie has a nail that curls to the left, on his left front foot. He's always had it. We watched him at first to ensure it wouldn't grow into his toe, but it's not, and if you touch it he doesn't flinch. It doesn't affect his mobility either. He's also got two nails missing on that foot so I assumed that the curled nail was due to something that happened before we got him.

Did your beardie always have the warped claw or is this something that appeared just recently?

Oh, dear... It turns out that, yes, he does have MBD. The vet cut his nails and said when he's better, it'll fix itself. It turns out that my dad didn't feed him for 2 months or replace him UVB light when it burned out when I was gone. He all but forgot that he was there, but I don't blame him fully. We were having a lot of family difficulties when I was gone. And, no, I couldn't take Edgar with me. But now, we have him on Oxbow critical care diet, and we force feed him 3 times a day, since he refuses (or is too weak) to eat.

Hello,

Which UVB are you using right now?
Are you supplementing calcium on a regular basis? Did the vet do a blood test or x-rays to determine the metabolic bone disease?
The critical care is excellent so that should definitely help him out quite a bit. Can you post a picture of him for us?
