Boodah,Crush,Gizmo,Princess n Mika! Updated 4/23 :)

Even though we are still mourning our little Spike, he led us to our new luvbug, Boodah! I don't know if I am supposed to say, but we visited with Tom of TND Dragons today. He was wonderful and has the most beautiful dragons who are very well loved and cared for. Tom and his wife are so friendly and welcoming.

Here are the first pics of Boodah who is still settling in having just arrived home this afternoon. He weighed in at 14g today! More than double Spike! Boodah is wicked FAST and luvs jumping around his viv. He is extremely inquisitive and we can't wait until he's completely settled in and his full personality comes thru. Boodah is already very feisty and we are hopelessly head over heels in luv!

The kindness and generosity of everyone on this forum astounds me. It really is like a family here and I am so grateful for all of you. It's amazing how many wonderful friends I've made already. Thank you for your never-ending support during our trying times with Spike and for helping us welcome Boodah into our family.

Is he getting 4 to 5 hours a day under the UVB? And what is his basking temp? When Embyr was that young she liked it at about 112, and most babies like it warmer. It may be he's not warm enough.

His basking temp is 105. Cool side is 82. Yes, he gets a minimum of 5 hours uvb but closer to 7-8 hours. Even tho Boodah gets out to play, it's usually for 20-30 mins a couple times a day. He does spend most of his time in the viv. He's still pooping every day. Just seems to be decreasing his protein rite now. Eating greens tho

It just may be that he's not hungry right now - you did say that he was getting ready to shed - that can slow down his appetite a bit. I wouldn't worry about it unless he's not interested for a couple of days. You can always call if'n you want.

Success! So, I was wondering if Boodah didn't like the pyrex be/c he would rub his snout on the outside of the dish but when I'd put him in he'd jump rite out. So I just put some crix in his viv n he attacked them! Poor thing must have been starving. I'm just glad he ate! Snow has started-yuck! Off to the vet tomorrow! R appt. is at 130p. Will update when we get home.

They are taking him to the vet to see what that blue dot on his butt is!! :wink: :lol: Actually, I think I read somewhere a few posts back it is just for an over all checkup Tom...kind of like a well baby check.

Yes, we r going for an overall check up. Get an official length n weight, stool check-the usual. Boodah's doing great other than he won't come down from the plant in the morning! I give him an hour or so after the lights come on but he just stays up there, pouting! He gets lite stress marks n poof! they r gone after I hold him a minute. Off to my dsughters valentine's party n then to the vet....

I know, I know! Sorry. Crazy afternoon. (Sometimes I wish I lived on a deserted island!) So the vet said Boodah is beautiful n very healthy! Yay, Boodah! Fecal was negative. He now weighs 16g. The vet said we definitely got a healthy one this time around. Boodah just luved all the attention. All the girls were just cooing over how cute he is. He ate like a champ. They trimmed the very tip of his tail. There was a bit of retained shed or a small constriction or something. Boodah really didn't like it while we were all out of the house today! When I got back from my daughter's school, he was under his hide, all dark n stressed. I had to talk to him for about 10 minutes to coax him out! After that, he was great. He didn't even get stressed out in the car. He really likes the dandelion greens. I m wondering if it would b easier to give the liquid calcium instead of dusting the crix. What do u guys do? No pics today My digital camera batteries died n the new ones r charging.

I do dusting or phoenix worms/butter worms. I'm in the worm phase currently, since Spark is being a goober and refusing to eat crickets (which begs the question - why am I trying to get my cricket colony going?)

Be/c ur a good slave! I wish u could of seen us (well, me) w/the crix! Too funny! My hubby was making fun of me be/c I had big, yellow elbow length gloves on so they wouldn't touch my skin! I think I screamed every 2 seconds! Let's hope the adjustment period is short! I'm used to the cricket keeper w/the tubes n they can't get near me.

Jane that is so awesome you guys had a good check up. Not that we expected any less of one of Tom's babies. Just aitand see they grow so fast. I posted Cosmos progress from when I rescued him and now. He has gotten huge and jus wait Buddah will too.
