Yes, he's found out what a wonderful thing a
black beard can be. Sometimes the black goes down their bellys, too. Our oldest beardie Lonzo, he's 8 yrs old, his
black beard goes down to his knees, not kidding. It's a paler black, more dark grey but I have a pic that shows it. If I can find it I'll post it for you.
Rubio, our youngest dragon (we have 4 & are fostering a fifth) figured out his
black beard at 5 mo old. He was so funny, he'd almost go cross-eyed to get it big. Leo, our 4 yr old, black beards all day & includes stamping and bobbing. Your baby is now a juvenile and you can expect more of the same. Your female will also start arm-waving or low bobbing, depending on her age & interest. It's an interesting time, watching your beardie do different things.
