bearded dragons belly

my beardies belly use to be really smooth....now it has a very course feel almost like sandpaper...any reasoning behind this?

perhaps he's starting to shed? I know when my beardie is going to shed because her skin goes really hard.

ya he nose gets grey and i think he is going to shed, but he just shedded and it still felt this way....hes still less than 4months and is already 12in...maybe this one will be a biggy =)
