bearded dragon growth?

hey everyone i was just wondering do bearded dragons grow inches like every year or every month something like that? and if you can, can you show me a chart showing the growth of the bearded dragon thanks!!!! :mrgreen:

It depends on the dragon, stress levels, nutrition, etc. Each beardie is different.

I agree with above post - they tend to grow at their own rate, depending on quite a number of factors.

We only started keeping record of Angie's growth for a little over a month, but here is what we've got so far.

ok thanks you guys i apreciate it alot!!! :mrgreen: so according to both of your charts bearded dragons grow like every week if feed the proper food and getting all of its nutritions and stuff right? also how long have you all had your bearded dragons and how big are they now?

I got Khan May 11th, 2010. He was 7 inches long.
Last I measured him, before brumation, he was 17.75 inches!
So he grew 10 inches in 6 months.

they grow the most in the first year. They might continue to grow up to the 2nd year I think, but it will be much slower.

oh yea i know alot about this website this is the most informative care sheet ive ever seen about bearded dragons!!! and they also sell equipment and medicines i love this website!! ima definitely use this when i get my bearded dragon for christmas :mrgreen: so what brand for uvb and heat lamp do you think is best for my bearded dragon? something thats not that expensive and works real good!

REPTISUN 10.0 flourescent tube is the only UV lighting that is consistently recommended by members of this site.
Petmountain sells them for under 20 bucks.

Ceramic heat emiters (CHE) are the best way to go for warmth. You can find them between 20 and 30 bucks depending on where you look. These last for a long time, a couple of years at least so it is well worth the investment.

ok thanks! so do you think its ok to use a flood light or regular house bulb for the basking spot for the bearded dragon? and what brand of CHE do you think i should get?

I picked up a white light, broad-spectrum basking bulb from petco (sunglo halogen bulb). Make sure you get the wattage appropriate for your tank! Too high and you'll cook your dragon. I'm not an expert on basking bulbs though. I just make sure it's a white light bulb and that it's broad spectrum.
