Basking Temp Question

I just cleaned my cage out his 75 g w bleach and water and moved things around and noticed the log he bask on was up to 130ish I have moved it just now Its droping he has another log to cool off on so hes fine but wow I thought Im gonna cook him YIKES :shock: Ok well I dont want an unhealthy hot just right before I moved things around he basked regularly open mouthed so I know hes fine I just dont wanna ruine that

Do you have a thermometer with a probe? If so, let it sit on his basking spot for about 30 min to see what the temps are. If it gets over 110, then its to hot,imo.

Yes I have the thermomoter from walmart with the probe Its droping its at like 114 now I may have to move it further away or drop the watt of my light bulb THANX FOR YOUR HELP Midmichicer

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
