I wanted to introduce everyone to our new girl. She is on her way now from Denver, CO. Here's the tracking # if anyone wants to follow her flight: http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?loc=en_US&Requester=NOT&tracknum=1Z6ET1020195023418&AgreeToTermsAndConditions=yes We have chosen the name Angeline (Angie for short) which means "messenger of God." I will post some new pictures tomorrow but these are the ones we have so far. She is part leatherback.

Here she is when Laszlo brought her home from the pet store on Feb 17th, 2012.

Thanks Michele. I was pleased that Angie waved at her, I had been watching Laura to see if she would wave and just happened to look behind me to see Angie doing it.

I'll have to take some pictures of her out of the tank where you can see her true colors. I'll be home trying to recover tomorrow so will do that.

Thanks for checking in.

Hi Deb, thanks for checking in. Yes, now we have an orange & red female and a yellow male. :)

I have been sick all weekend. Started vomiting 3 am Saturday morning. Had to meet Suzanne to get Laura at 11 am so I took an anti-nausea pill, saltine crackers & a bottle of water for the 45 minute ride. I did ok. When I got home, I got worse and ran a high fever, more vomiting, headache, achyness. Needless to say, I'm very weak as I have hardly been able to eat anything. I'll have tomorrow & Tuesday to build up my strength but don't feel I'm ready for a Monday which is unbelievable.

Diane, I'm so sorry you're not well. Please baby yourself and get better soon. Laura was well worth the trip, even if you were feeling poorly. She is beautiful, and I'm sure she is settling in quite nicely. How neighborly of Angie to welcome her. :love5:

I'm glad you're taking the next couple of days off. Flu season this year is brutal & it's just starting. As Esther said, just baby yourself so you feel better soon. Take care, k?

Thanks Esther, Deb & Julie. I'm so glad that we took Laura and Suzanne is relieved too. She is such a great person, it was hard driving off with her beloved beardie. :(

CONGRATULATIONS!! :blob8:

I had been wondering when you were going to pick her up, and here she is.
Her eyes does have that stressed out look to her, but I'm sure she'll warm up to her new home in no time, especially since Angie had already arm waved at her.

Does Loki know that there's another female in the house?
What does Paul and Josh think of Laura, and vice versa?

Thanks Gina. I think the Harry Potter CD's are helping, they both listen so intently to them. :p

No, Loki doesn't know about her yet. She only just saw Angie today so wanted to take it slow & easy.

Paul & Josh think she's adorable. Her colors are just popping, almost hurt your eyes when she's in her bath. Will have to take some better pictures tomorrow. She's a little jumpy when we hold her although she snuggled in Josh's neck this afternoon. :D

Well, she'd have to share him with Loki but Josh has a lot of love to share.

Hi Diane. I like your new girl. She's adorable! It must have been hard for Laura's former family to have to give her up. If I was moving like that, I'd prefer to keep my girls (as they are the only 'children' I've ever had) rather than giving them up.

I was wondering if you are feeling better? Sometimes what you have, based on your description, it may take awhile to get better.

Hi Lori, thanks for checking in. :) I'm doing better, finally able to eat some solid foods today, first ones since Friday. Nothing really tastes good though. I have to go back to work on Wed so I have to recover from this quickly.

It was VERY hard for them to give Laura up and I felt so bad knowing what they were going through. But, they were happy that we were taking her & knew we would be able to give her a great home. Since they had to live in a rented home for a while, it was impossible for them to be able to take their pets and with her husband working for an airlines, he has seen so many circumstances involving pets so they couldn't even consider shipping any of them.

She ran all around the downstairs tonight while Angie was taking her afternoon nap. She runs real fast, then puts the breaks on quickly. She is also a jumper & kept jumping up on the tall cat bed that Angie was sleeping in. This weekend I'm gonna introduce her to the long plastic tub that is inside of our bathtub to see how she likes that to try to get her to swim.

Here's some pictures I took today. She is very red although the pictures make her look orange.

I brought her to the table when we had finished our lunch and she was trying frantically to climb on the table so Paul held her. She sat right down very calmly. Evidently this is something she did with her previous family. :) I think her eyes look much more relaxed than the ones taken yesterday.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
