I wanted to introduce everyone to our new girl. She is on her way now from Denver, CO. Here's the tracking # if anyone wants to follow her flight: http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?loc=en_US&Requester=NOT&tracknum=1Z6ET1020195023418&AgreeToTermsAndConditions=yes We have chosen the name Angeline (Angie for short) which means "messenger of God." I will post some new pictures tomorrow but these are the ones we have so far. She is part leatherback.

Here she is when Laszlo brought her home from the pet store on Feb 17th, 2012.

Great pics Diane, isn't that funny about the hand feeding, I have to had feed my crew, too, but at least she ate butterworms on her own, that's a good start. It'll be fun to see her in the feeding tank, mine would have nothing to do with it, I'd get this "Let me out Mom, what are you trying to do to me!" look, so they all get hand fed. Even when I drop the worms in front of their noses I sometimes have to move it to a better position so they can eat it faster. Even Gabriel is in on it & he won't eat them on his own or salad either, all had fed!

She's such a cutie, I'm so glad she's eating well for you & curious, doesn't miss a thing, does she. That's great! As for TV & music, it's just a beardie's way. I'm sure if you put a cartoon on the TV she'll love the kid voices, all of mine do.

Yes Deb, I was glad that she ate butterworms on her own and today she ate a few phoenix worms out of her dish too. She ate the most greens today than she has since she'd arrived. I had been putting her dish of greens in and placing a few on a folded up paper towel and she's been eating most of those. But, today she ate all the ones on the paper towel and almost all of the ones in her dish besides, of course, there were a few scattered around too. She has really settled in.

I had tried to feed all the others in a separate feeding container when they were little but it never worked out and they just gave me that look that you explained. I had to work today so I didn't try the container feeding with Angie yet but I think I will give it a try tomorrow morning with some crickets and see how it goes.

She is shedding around her eyes and the top of her head has turned a little darker so a shed coming along there too. She THOROUGHLY enjoyed her bath tonight and was swimming and making jerky movements all around it. Seems so good to see her relax and enjoy herself while burning off some energy at the same time. She took a 3rd poop in her bath and was about to eat it before I could take it out but then she moved away from it. Her colors were so vibrant in her bath with a totally white belly, chest and beard. Like a dummy, I forgot to take my camera in the kitchen with me and didn't dare walk away from her for a second.

You ought to see her with Josh. I was holding her late this afternoon while sitting at the table. Usually babies (especially) will act jumpy and pull their heads down when someone stands over them, but when Josh stood there, she raised her head way up high watching him and just waiting for him to stroke her beard. She watches him walk everywhere with total interest, it's so cute. She isn't a cuddler quite yet as she is so quick and active but she does snuggle down into our hands.

Here's some pictures I took after her bath, I think I captured her bright coloring quite well this time. You can see the area loosening up around her mouth. There's a little poop on her log that is now all cleaned up. I had to wait for her to go to sleep before removing her log since she's on it constantly.

Beautiful! Gorgeous!

That's so sweet that she watches Josh's every move and loves having her beard stroked by him. Isn't amazing how they just know :D

Wow, she is brighter in those pics than previous ones & you can see the colour of her eyes, light amber, so pretty. Boy she's going to just more stunning as she gets older. That's great that she likes Josh enough to look up at him & wait for him to stroke her beard, she'll be a cuddler before too long. Every time I see pics, I'm so glad she's with you! She sure has settled in!

Actually Deb and Lori, the other pics were taken through the glass, this time I opened the top of the tank so that's why her colors showed up better, guess I'm getting smarter in my old age lol. She just sat there and wasn't afraid of the flash at all.

I just sent an email to Lindasgonebuggie. I had ordered and paid for 3 hornworm cups but then Misty died so only had send one cup at the time. Then Judas only ate one horn out of that cup. So now Linda is gonna send the 2nd cup with tiny & small horns, hopefully Angie will really like them.

It is very comforting Lori that she has become so content and accepting of everything. :p I am so glad that I jumped on getting her as soon as I did.

I understand that, Diane. It happened the way I expected it to. She trusts you because she senses that you are good people and care about her therefore, she feels safe with you.

Oh Diane,I bet you were so happy to see Angie swim!! I know you have been waiting for that :) Who knows, maybe when she is a little older she will do the "one, two, THREE!" routine
You really did capture her colors well this time. :D I bet Josh turns to mush when she watches him
That is great that she is eating her greens so well, even off the paper towel. I used to put greens on a papertowel for Jojo too. Remember this picture?

Hi Michele,

I remember that picture really well, what a funny beardie JoJo was!

Diane, I'm glad Angeline is swimming, such good exercise & hopefully, when she gets bigger, she'll want to swim in the tub, like Leo & Gabriel.

She is so beautiful Diane! I don't know that I've seen another beardie with her coloring, its almost like she has a greenish tint/hue to her orange. Is it like that in person? I bet Laszlo is thrilled to be able to get updates of this little one. :D

Oh Michele, of course I remember that adorable picture of Jojo, miss your sweet girl. :love5: Love that picture of her and could never forget it. Thanks for sharing it again. Thinking about how much Jojo loved eating her greens off the paper towel helped me decide to put her greens on one to make it easier for her.

We love watching her swim around, she enjoys it so much. Perhaps one day I will try the "one, two, three GO" routine and see if she picks up on it like Sabrina loved doing. Yes Deb, it is very good exercise.

Thanks Julie. Yes, she does have a greenish tint to her side bars but what I haven't been able to capture in pictures is her 2 lighter orange patterns that run down the full length of her back in the middle before the side bars. Can't wait to see how bright her head is once that sheds.

Michelle, I remember that pic of Jojo trying to eat the paper towel along with the greens. Or maybe she was trying to move the greens so she didn't have to eat them? Who knows with these nutty girls.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
