Angie, Loki, Laura & Dozer (new pics 03/29/15)

I wanted to introduce everyone to our new girl. She is on her way now from Denver, CO. I will post some new pictures tomorrow but these are the ones we have so far. She is part leatherback.

Here she is when Laszlo brought her home from the pet store on Feb 17th, 2012.

She's adorable. I could be wrong but something about the way she was sitting up staring at the camera reminded me of Misty. I know she isn't Misty, there will never be another Misty but Angeline probably has some personality traits Misty had. I'm soo glad you got her. I know how much it hurts to loose one and how much it helps to have another one to love and cuddle. I think they were made just for us to love, cuddle and take care of.

kFitz, we can't help it, especially with a new beardie in a new home. We all love beardies.

Lori, a couple of times that I looked at her, she did remind me of Misty, the proud way she holds her head, the color of her eyes and that special spark. Misty was bigger built though, Angie seems more petite.

Yes Michele, she looks like an angel when she's sound asleep.

Today was a little bit of an adjustment for her (and me) since I went back to work. She woke right up when I turned her lights on and enjoyed some butters after she warmed up. She was already glass dancing when I left for work. She didn't want to eat for Josh right away but did eat a few crickets and small dubias. When I got home, she started making chomping motions and ate 4 crickets from my fingers. I think Laszlo handfed her quite a bit. After she digested, I brought her out and held her, she enjoyed watching TV with all of us then she had her bath, she hasn't started swimming around yet. She seems less nervous and I actually was kissing the top of her head for the first time tonight, she seemed to like it and was closing her eyes. She's now sound asleep and is content.

The phoenix worms and crickets didn't arrive yet but they are in NJ now so should be here when Paul stops to the mail during his lunch hour.

Laszlo, did she ever like drinking anything off her nose? When I put a drop of water on her nose while she was taking a bath, she jumped up to the side of the container. Seems like none of my girls ever drank like the guys did. (not sure how that sounds lol).

She's turning into a TV addict like my crew all are. I swear they just love to watch/listen to the kids voices on the cartoons & I know they love to watch "dogs with jobs". She'll pick her own, doesn't surprise me that she likes music either, as Crash can observe, there's something about it that soothes beardies. I choose to keep the TV on for them both all day, but I know they all like music, too, just not rock 'n roll! They all like golden oldies, just like I do, and old style rock 'n roll without harsh guitar sounds.

I'm glad you were able to give her a kiss & she shut her eyes, she is such a doll :love5: :love5:

I really enjoyed all the pics, but the ones of her sleeping under her stuffie were especially cute. I'm so glad you decided to bring her to your home, she just fits right in! And to allow Josh to feed her already, well that was just great!

I love older music, it doesn't hurt my ears like the older style. Hope all is well with you & I agree Angeline is just the cutest little thing!
My crew are doing really well & Gabriel is actually shedding! He's doing so well, I'm startled as he's still on panacur, yet he has a good appetite. Only 3 more doses & he's hopefully finally clean!

Yes, I only hand fed her.. I only hand feed all my beardies. It has its downsides of course, like when your sister is watching your house. Lol. You know, she never really seemed to mind baths, kinda just ran in place. She would take water off her nose before she realized she can drink it from below.

Yes Deb, she's getting to be quite the TV addict. She's doing very well and I can see that she has grown some already, getting quite the belly on her. I made a mistake and ordered 1/4" crickets and they were SO tiny. I picked a few up in my fingers to try to feed to her and you could tell she was confused by the small size, she kept grabbing them and really didn't need to chew them, guess she thought they were an appetizer lol. When Paul & Josh saw the size of them when they arrived today, they went to the pet store to get some of the small size, she ate 10 of them when I got home. Tomorrow she'll have some phoenix worms to eat too. She must have eaten some butters out of her dish today (with higher sides) because there were none to be found in her tank.

I think this weekend I'm gonna try putting her in a large transparent container with some crickets and see how she handles that. Would help save me some time on work days. She is adjusting very well, she gets confused about being able to watch me in the kitchen and then she whips her head around when I am in the livingroom on the other side of the tank in a few minutes. She doesn't miss a thing.

Here's some new pictures. She was a little dark on her belly & chest because she was warming back up after her bath. She sure looks proud though, doesn't she?

It seems good Lori to have her looking so relaxed and proud in the 40 gallon breeder. When she gets bigger, she will be in the vivarium that Misty absolutely loved. It would have been way too big for her now.
