Angie, Loki, Laura & Dozer (new pics 03/29/15)

I wanted to introduce everyone to our new girl. She is on her way now from Denver, CO. I will post some new pictures tomorrow but these are the ones we have so far. She is part leatherback.

Here she is when Laszlo brought her home from the pet store on Feb 17th, 2012.

I found these 4 pics of Angie and wondered if anyone thought either one would be good to submit for the calendar. I do plan on taking others of her tomorrow.

And, I found this one for Loki.

The first pic would be an adorable photo to submit, but it won't make it to the full page because it's not crisp enough. But if it doesn't matter much to you if she made it to a full page, then it'll be a cute one.

Of course I'd like one of my 2 beardies to get a full page. Have only had Gizmo ever on a full page. Guess you're right that it's not crisp enough, she was getting ready to shed on her nose & eye which probably prevented it from being real clear too.

Zoom in at least 150% to see if its pixels are clear. If there's any doubt on the crispness, it most likely won't be accepted for a full page.

Sorry Gina, but I'm not sure what you mean by 150%. My camera zooms in like this 3.0, 4.1, 5.3, up to 12x.

What do you think of the pic of Loki above?

Sorry for being so vague. After you had downloaded the pic from the camera to the computer, open the file (in whatever photo viewer you have) and zoom in on it.

That pic of Loki is a good one.

Try taking pics with a brighter background, where the subject won't blend in so much.

I wanted to submit pics of Angie outside but don't dare try it without her leash on as I'm afraid she will run off, never to be found. So, I'm kinda limited in that respect as I don't think Alex would like pics with leashes. I have a reversible roll of background that I will put behind her tomorrow and see if I can get clear pics. I'm never sure how much to zoom in actually. Thanks again.

Put her in front of an open window to get natural lighting.
What if you strategically place the leash on her back and down her tail where it won't be so obvious?

Problem is that I would have to take the picture with her in front of the screen, don't dare leave the window open otherwise.

Her leash is black and sticks out like a sore thumb. :roll:

I actually thought about that but wasn't sure if Alex would like it.

I submitted the #4 photo that you liked and also the one above of Loki. Now just have to work on Angie's.

As long as the photo is crystal clear in focus and has good lighting on both the background and subject, Alex will love it.
