I wanted to introduce everyone to our new girl. She is on her way now from Denver, CO. Here's the tracking # if anyone wants to follow her flight: http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?loc=en_US&Requester=NOT&tracknum=1Z6ET1020195023418&AgreeToTermsAndConditions=yes We have chosen the name Angeline (Angie for short) which means "messenger of God." I will post some new pictures tomorrow but these are the ones we have so far. She is part leatherback.

Here she is when Laszlo brought her home from the pet store on Feb 17th, 2012.

That's funny the way she timidly licked the floor yesterday  Good that she basked and ate so many crickets, I think she was on her best behavior so you would let her out today. :p Good luck with her today...she is a mischief maker! ;)

You're right Michele, she IS a "mischief maker." So far, she has been very good, she did slowly walk toward a register like she was going to snuggle underneath it but I snagged her. She had a ball scratching in a box for about an hr, she would scratch then stop & wait for me to scratch the outside, then she'd take her turn. She had her front & back leg on the same side going like crazy. She took a short break, then started in all over again. She's now napping because she tired herself out so much.

Glad to hear she's playing games again, enough to tire her out & glad you snagged her before she got under the register, she is a mischief maker  So wonder how long it will be (if ever) that she will be allowed out on her own. I let Gabriel out yesterday and he made his way around the living room, but didn't try to climb the sofa, which was good to see. He's not very active lately and has gained a good amount of weight, but not fat, just plump. I'll have the balcony cleaned up over the next two weekends, then they'll all get their balcony time, which means they all get to run around even more. Now if only we could have less rain!

Hi Deb, she was so good over the weekend when I had her out that Josh said he would give it a try this morning AFTER his 1st cup of coffee so he would be awake enough to watch her very closely. He said she started walking in the kitchen and then stopped, turned right around and went to stand next to him in the livingroom, guess she wasn't gonna take any chances of getting lost again. He said she was a real sweetheart and cuddled with him for quite a while after he took her out a 2nd time today. Then, she decide it was her naptime. :p I'm glad she is cautious, still makes me feel bad that she must have been so scared and couldn't figure out how to find US.

Hi Diane. It seems like Angie trusts you. :love5: That's why she isn't going to far away. She might try it again when she forgets what happened, just like toddlers do. Rosie really trusts us. I had her on my left shoulder and Squirt on my right about a week ago and I had picked her up to give her attention and Bill was on my right side and she got total undivided attention from the both of us, you should have seen the delighted look on her face :love5: :love10: . They are like kids, they all want undivided attention from their parents.

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted on this thread since June! Guess I better give updates on both of them. Angie is now 19 mo old, weighs 553 grams & is almost 21" long. Loki will be 15 mo tomorrow, weighs 617 grams and is about 19" long. They are SO different in their body build and personalities. Both are doing very well.

I need some help deciding which 2 pictures to submit for Loki if anyone would like to help me out. If you don't feel any of these are good, I have a few days to take more so please be honest.

I took some of Angie outside today but she had her leash on (didn't dare take it off) and I didn't like the way the coloring came out.

There are all great pictures, it took me a bit to decide but I think 1 & 5 are the best, to me anyway. Good lucking choosing. Your camera does take such clear colourful pictures.

I'm in the same boat, but not getting as good as yours. If you want to check my thread, the last 2/3 pages show the best I could get.

Let me know what you decide. What about Angie, have you decided on those yet?

Deb, I guess you were posting here as I was posting on your thread. It sure is hard to narrow it down, isn't it?

I have tried adjusting ALL settings on the camera. Sometimes they come out so terribly blurry. Some of the good ones I took of Loki today came out cute but the wood behind them was crooked because of the way I was holding the camera.

I had Angie outside today and took some pics BUT I don't dare take her leash off, afraid she would bolt across the yard. I don't think Alex would prefer any "leash pics" so I will have to take some of her this Saturday. Hopefully she will sit still like Loki did.

Post the leash pics anyway just so I can see them. They are both beautiful beardies! And yes, we were posting at the same time  Great minds think alike, right?

The pics of Angie today didn't come out good at all. I had adjusted all the settings and the colors were very washed out. You couldn't see her reddish orange coloring at all.

She will be too tired when I get home every night this week so I don't think she'll be up for posing. So will have to make sure to take the pics after I get home early Saturday afternoon. The cutoff is Sunday.

Yes, great minds think alike.

#4 definitely

#1 would've been a good one if it wasn't that close up. ~3 inches away would be the perfect distance.

Hint: You want as much of a close-up shot as possible, but not where the beardie fills up the entire window. Keep in mind that Alex has to add the beardie's name and possible 3-4 thumbnails of other beardies onto the page.

Thanks Gina. I used the zoom on #1, perhaps I zoomed in too much. What's your thought on #2? Do you think #5 is too blurry? Thanks for reminding me about the extra distance around the beardie.

I tried the macro setting again, I push it about halfway down and the picture looks clear but then when I push the shutter button, the picture comes out completely blurred.

The background for #2 and #3 blends in too much with Loki. The colorings are too similar.
If you zoomed in on #5, Loki's face is blurred.

That's weird that it'd blur out the entire view. Could you had moved your hands just a teensy bit?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
