I wanted to introduce everyone to our new girl. She is on her way now from Denver, CO. Here's the tracking # if anyone wants to follow her flight: http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?loc=en_US&Requester=NOT&tracknum=1Z6ET1020195023418&AgreeToTermsAndConditions=yes We have chosen the name Angeline (Angie for short) which means "messenger of God." I will post some new pictures tomorrow but these are the ones we have so far. She is part leatherback.

Here she is when Laszlo brought her home from the pet store on Feb 17th, 2012.

It's a good thing I didn't call to ck in here on Wed because if I knew she was missing, I probably would have had to leave work with worry.

Totally understandable. My first bearded dragon (I had to exchange him for Jace becasue he had epileptic seizures and I had no time or money to help with that) was a Christmas present from my boyfriend, Paul. The first weekend I had him, I woke up for work and I swear I thought he was dead. I poked him and everything and no response. My boss sent me home earlier because how worked up I was. I came home and he was hanging on his tree, just chilling. I almost died.

I'm hoping she'll remember being cold and unable to get out of her predicament, too, Diane, but you'll see tomorrow. She must have climbed her stuffie to get out, you think? Rubio is the only one who's ever gotten out of his tank, except for Leo, who once managed to jump into Issy's tank, but luckily she didn't get pregnant & we still don't know how he got out, the little brat. He's never done it since. Rubio was so long he just stepped out of the 40 gallon breeder he was in, and I was watching him & he was watching me as he got out, so he traded tanks with Lonzo, who was in the 75 gallon & that worked out well.

Gabriel put on a lot of weight during the time he was grounded and now when he tries to climb the sofa, he just falls over. My scale stopped working so I'm not sure how big he is now, I do try to get him out to run around, but it's hard with so many. He'll get out this weekend. I have to clean off the balcony so I can get them out there one by one, they all love it out on the balcony, so much space to run around and so many concrete blocks to hide under (they hold up the beardie barriers I have all around so they can't get out).

Well I hope her run around tomorrow goes well! And I well know the panicky feeling when I can't find a dragon!

You can't imagine (maybe you can) the feeling that I had when I saw her, we thought she was lost forever. :(
Oh yes, I definitely CAN imagine and CAN relate!

I hope Angie had learned her lesson for running off to hide somewhere she wasn't allowed.

Deb, she didn't climb out of her tank, Josh had gotten her out about 10:15 am like he always did. She was walking around and he went up to the bathroom. When he came down, he couldn't find her anywhere and that was a total of 9 hrs not knowing where she was.

Since I worked today and she is most active in the morning, she didn't get any run around time at all, I will let her do that tomorrow but will watch her closely. I did set her down on the kitchen floor today and she just sat there at first, then she slowly walked and kept stopping to look at us like "I'm right here, I'm being good." She slowly walked onto the carpet and had to lick it twice, she hadn't been on it since Wed.

We really think now that it really scared her and that when Josh heard the scratching 2 times, she was in the front of the book shelf but because there is wood totally enclosing it on the front, she didn't know how to get out. She didn't realize only the back was open and that she would have to go toward the back again where the opening was. Plus, it must have been dark under there and she got SO cold. Poor thing, she must not have wanted to be under there so long but couldn't come to him or us when we were calling her. :(

She was an angel today, had her pretty colors on and very happily basked for a while, took her 3 hr nap, then warmed up & ate 18 crickets.

Tomorrow will see how she is and hopefully it scared her enough that she won't try to get out of our sight.

That reminds me of what Goldie did awhile back. She'd gone to somewhere we couldn't find her, outside of the bed and when we found her we told her we were worried that we couldn't find her. A month or so later she'd disappeared again and we couldn't find her then, either. We were worried but I decided since it was warm enough I was going to lay down and when I stretched out my feet to the end of the bed, I felt this Goldie sized lump then I got her out. She could tell we were worried and she said "What? I was in the bed!" I told her that she's usually at the head of the bed not at the foot and we couldn't find her. We never had that problem again. They are so smart. No one can convince me otherwise.

Oh Lori, that's quite a story. She was still right in bed afterall.

I agree, they are SO smart, they realize a lot more than some people realize. After all these yrs, I'm still learning from them every day.

Yes, the look in her eyes was like, "Why are you worried? I was in the bed!" I told her that I didn't know she was at the bottom and I was concerned. She never did that again. She must have really loved and trusted us to make sure we knew where to find her. Bill knew her hiding places but that one time she went someplace new.
This makes me miss her even more :( I am thankful for Lil Squirt but I still miss the ones we lost.

Awww, she was concerned that she made you both worry about her.

I know, we are grateful too for the ones we have but since they are all so different, we will always miss the ones we lost.

Sounds like she learned her lesson, Diane, and is being very cautious and making sure someone is nearby when she's out. That might change, but at least she's being cautious for now, sweet Angie, she must have been so scared!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
