even though Fiz is a boy, and he'd probably appreciate a really manly viv, I'm going to make it kind of girly. I like the way the cheetah print placemat looks in there, and it looks girly. I'm a girl & my room is bright pink so I think it would go along better if it was kind of girly anyway. LOL. It'll still be with Fiz's best interest, and everything in it will be functional and good for him. But as for colors and patterns go, that's my decision. I don't think he'll mind. I can't wait to get this finished. Now that i have this placemat, I can make the colors of his viv go along with it. It makes it so much easier because now i know what color tiles I need to get & what color I should paint the rocks.

LOL about the girly viv...you should do what you want. They surely don't know any better!! We sill call one of our anoles a 'she' even though she turned out to be a boy. :dontknow:

Shanny: haha i saw some anoles in the store today... they're so cute! they have the cutest little faces. can they live with other lizards though? the pet store had long tailed lizards, anoles, and crested geckos all in one tank... i thought it was strange. Just curious though!

I haven't seen Fiz and KD in awhile and they are looking great! I have put up one new pic of Nibbler, it's cute but sad i am afraid, he's cranky from shedding. It's good to see Fiz enjoying the outside, they really like it out there, i will have some new Nibbs pics up as soon as he is happy again!

Well, since you asked....NO. Inter-species cohabitation is a huge no-no. The main reason is that there are parasites that every reptile has that are beneficial or normally present in them, but harmful to another. Just keeping a reptile in captivity increases internal parasite numbers, and that is why while coccidia is natural in dragons, the numbers get out of control in captivity because it is spread by contact with fecal matter. And they get cooped up with their poop in captivity when they would not be near it in the wild. So coccidiosis can get easily out of control in a tank.

So if you keep several species together and the beneficial parasite to one is very harmful to another, you could have one species die. It's a really bad idea to try and balance that many different climates, and honestly no reptile species is kept exactly like another. There is always something slightly different.

So how are Fiz and KD?

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't updated in awhile.

Fiz and KD are good. Fiz is still hiding all the time, KD is really jumpy and skittish. But other than that they're doing okay.

I have been neglecting my rock progress. I bought more of the cheetah print placemats for the walls yesterday. I'm painting and sealing my rocks now. To add to the suspense, I'm not going to put any pictures up until it's completely finished :wink: Haha!

My one concern is that they haven't shed at all since... well, I don't know when but it seems like forever ago. They haven't seemed to grow either. Don't know what up with them. Hope they're okay.

KD is 16-17 inches and Fiz is a little over 13 in... I'm not too worried about KD because he's so big and fat and just growing like a weed. But Fiz has hardly grown at all. He's not as skinny as before (He used to have really skinny arms and legs, but now they're nice and fat and full) KD is fat all over. Fizzy is just so tiny. Poor buddy.

Well good to hear the gang is good ya Zeus hasn't really grown much either I don't think he will he's about 15 1/2 inchs but his tail nip I think he's done growing though

Glad to hear you are doing well, and I've been busy too - barely have time to be on here lately! The smileys even look weird or different. Hmmm. lol

Hope Fix gets his spunk back. His behavior does not sound normal at all, so there has to be something going on with him, poor guy. Does he have any diarrhea or are his poops normal appearing?

I know, Shanny. I hope he does too. The weird thing is, he's the happiest little thing when he's outside of his tank. I put him on the floor of my room and let him run around. He runs all over, always coming back to me. He's brightly colored and he licks everything and is just so happy all of the time. It's so cute because he's so happy. But when he's in his tank he sulks and doesn't do much. That's why I can't wait to change his tank, maybe he's bored? :dontknow: No, he doesn't really use the bathroom regularly. He goes once every week or so. But when he goes, it looks normal it just has a lot of liquid around it (like a puddle). Poor buddy

Mine poos like that, too. Funny.... sometimes when I let him out, he'll scurry around the room, and other times, he'll find a nice, dark, quiet place and got to sleep.

Hi Pumpkin! I'm glad to hear you're doing good. Sorry about Fizzy being unhappy in his viv. Figment has been doing something kinda similar. I know he's clean of parasites because he has been through meds and multiple fecal exams. But he keeps putting on his dark, unhappy colors. They go away when he is out of his viv or basking. His temperatures are just right. A couple days ago I took away his superworms because I'm wondering if they are upsetting his tummy. So, he is getting daily probiotics and carnivore care. There is some improvement. I also ordered a supply of soft body worms that will be here next week. Maybe they will be better on his little tummy.

See if any of those ideas maybe work for Fizzy? Can't wait to see the new rock pictures!
