does my uvb light need to stretch the whole tank or can it just be half? i got his basking light on the left side and a 18' tube light on the right its a 40 gallon is that to small?

it's best if the uvb can stretch as much of the tank as it can, that way, no matter where the dragon is in the tank, they're in the glow of the light.

The basking bulb and fluorescent UVB should be alongside each other so your beardie can get the benefits of both lights at the same time and also at the right distance. The UVB doesn't have to span the whole length of the tank although it is fine if it does.

I agree. I think most people recomend to have the light stretch across the entire length because the more lighting u have...the happier your beardie will be. U are fine with the 18 inch strip as long as u put it on the same side/next to the basking bulb, as Diane stated above, this way your beardie can receive both at the same time with correct distance.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
