*Advice and reassurance needed* Am I caring for him right?

I am with others that a red heat light is simply undesirable. During the day your Beardie should get white light and at night no light. I like a ballasted UVB white light such as the ones sold by Reptile UV for providing UVA/UVB to my Beardie. You can supplement that with a UVB florescent...

    My beardie's Sleeping habits

Yeah, often Ragnar sleeps on a branch. But sometimes he just hunkers down on the ground, under his branches, and conks out. Normal Beardie behavior, in my experience.

Need to take our BD to a hotel this weekend

I agree with Cooper. I have Ragnar's lights on a timer. As long as he has enough food for us being gone, he is good to go staying at home.

    Which one to buy?

I have tried everything and yes, tiles (removable) are the best. You can usually just wipe up the mess and twice a month or so take 'em out and really clean them.

    Beardie growth question.

Well, he is a good looking Dragon. Give him some protein with the greens and he'll be fine. Hornworms are particularly good for re-hydrating Dragons as these worms contain a fair amount of water. And every Dragon I've ever seen loves them.

Is my beardie to small for her age?

Yes, she looks great. She WILL enjoy the bigger domain when you can swing it for her.

Is my beardie growing too fast?

Great looking Dragon. Let him eat! At this age they are hungry because they are growing and growing = good. Be sure he is getting calcium and reptile vitamins.

Only the head is not shedding

Yes, uneven sheds are very common. My new Beardie, Ragnar, seems to like to shed first his tail and four legs, then his body and head. These lizards have been doing this for millions of years; they know what they are doing, crazy as it may seem.

    Beardie growth question.

You didn't say how big or how old your Dragon is. Feeding a Dragon nothing but collard greens for 8 months is an inadequate diet in the extreme. These animals need some protein; how much depends on the age and size of the dragon. Plus, in my experience these animals need variety. Just one...

It cracks me up how these Beardies totally veg out with their arms and legs flung in all directions. Ragnar does the same thing.

    Horn worm staple protein?

I have had good luck with hornworms as a main live food staple for Beardies. Lord knows that Ragnar loves them and he is growing like crazy. I alternate dusting them with Calcium and Reptile Vitamins. Not sure how Hornworms differ nutritionally all that much from Silkworms. I feed Ragnar...

    Questions

I'm not sure how a Dragon can be "too big" ?? And how big was that if you do not mind sharing.

    Baby bearded dragon won't eat

Yes. Very important that your new owner has a basking spot at around 100F and also that your master has plenty of UVB. I always have a Reptile UV 160 watt self-ballasting bulb for my owner.

How does my dragon's size compare to others?

Great looking Beardie, OP. The truncated tail just gives him character. He looks like a bigger than average guy. My last full grown girl was 21 inches. Yours looks like he'd be bigger than that if his tail was not slightly truncated.

    Introducing Ragnar

Desi is a great looking Beardie! I hope Ragnar can equal his 24 inch size. Last week he was 15 inches and entering into a new shed. Hope he continues to grow.

    Found a perfect cave/basking item

Nice cave/basking station. I have one somewhat similar made of wood rather than rock. Ragnar loves it.

    Amelia :)

I know what you mean about roaches ("Dubias") but actually you will find that they are cleaner, hardier, and easier to deal with in every way than crickets. They do not stink like crickets and they are better for your beardies than crickets.
