Of course I was researching and I think I found some ways to save some money because I love D.I.Y. projects. But im not really sure on the total cost and the monthly cost for beardies.
1- To make my own cage a 4x2x2 from lowes or something. I already have tools how much money in wood to make...
I believe that they only live several weeks if that. Someone said that 25 crickets is good to start a colony. i was also thinking of breeding my own crickets.
glad i could help. If you have plexiglass i think lighting and under the tank heater would keep it good. but if you use screen the heat will just "Leek" out.
what a great idea. I probaly wouldn't use a glass bottom. i would probaly use plexi-glass because it is stonger. You could use a heat pad meant for humans(just put a tile underneath if you are worried about it.) or a Heat Pad meant for reptile tanks. I like the idea of the big shelf but i think...
If tiki is old enough to use sand. I think that repticarpet looks horrible. And i suggest to put it on a stand. you could paint over somthing or make a custom stand and stain it with a nice color. It could look real sharp. 8)
sounds like a good idea. or if your beardie is lazy(im not saying he is) or is the tank is big you could just put him in another box like a smaller one and put the crickets in there with him. this way the crickets have nowhere to hide or run :)
yeh, instead of crickets you could also you mealworms, superworms, dubia, etc.
DB food isn't nessary. just feed the beardie as much as it will eat in 10 mins or a feeder.
And it needs veggies and Reti-Cal which you put on the feeder insect.
good luck
