can the humidity be to low? the humidity in the tank has been at around 10% since its been getting colder. is low humidity bad for them or can i leave it?

It should be just a bit higher, should be up around 30%

You should be okay. The temps are most likely the issue what are the temperatures for the hot and cool side??? If it stays low like that they could get a respiratory infection.

around 97-107 on the hot side and 80 on the cool end

yes you want optimal humidity 40-50% nothing under 20 and over 70% I would suggest a water bowl in the tank - on the cool side and if thats not doing the trick you can get a small humidifier next to the tank -- to low can cause RI's
