Measurements are (36 x 18 x 24") or 90 x 45 x 30 cm
What tile size do I get?
To save time, I'm going to risk making a couple of assumptions...
I'll assume we're talking about
not grouting between tiles, and that 18" is the depth (front to back).
You're going to want the largest tiles you can find that will fit; fewer tiles means fewer cracks for leakage, and fewer (if any) tile cuts.
Tile sizes are nominal; a 12" tile will measure something smaller--around 11¾" or so. When you go to the store to get the tiles, take a tape measure and measure as accurately a possible. If ordering online, the actual size should be somewhere in the technical specifications for a tile.
So if you went three 12" tiles across, that would be 35¼". Fill the gap on one or both sides with strips of wood/plywood.
If you can find 12" x 18" tiles, great. If not, you may have to get creative and use two 12" x 9" or three 12" x 6" (front to back). The more individual tiles you have to use, the greater the gaps around the perimeter will be.
All of this depends on the accuracy of your
inside measurements. So first thing is to remeasure. If the actual measurements are different than above, you may have to do some minor math, and/or get the tiles cut.
