I thought they looked pretty cool. Like a little cousin of the bearded dragon. I have an idea, of what it is, but I just can't recall the exact name right now. Anyone know?

Agreed--Horny Toads. I've also heard them called Short Horned lizards. I don't see a great deal of resemblance, but I guess they must look a lot like Beardies to the untrained eye, because I've had dozens of people mistake my beardies for horny toads since moving to Utah. Lol!

They're native to the SW United States, and can be challenging to care for due to their unique dietary needs: They HAVE to have ants (harvester ants, I believe) in their diet. Some can survive mainly on crickets and the like, but still need ants every few weeks, where others will eat nothing but the ants. It's some chemical in the ants that is necessary to healthy digestion in a horny toad.

Definitely adorable little buggers! If it weren't for the ant thing, I'd have to get a few myself! :)

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
