UVB light flickers.

My uvb light is always slow turning on. Usually i have to flip it up side down and move it around for it to come on, then when it does come on it flickers. Does this mean i need to get a new one?

It is your fixture not the bulb.
The fixture could be old, ballast/starter could be bad, or it could be the wrong size fixture for your bulb.

Could it be the bulb is also not properly seated in the fixture? Seen that stuff happen with normal fixtures and bulbs of that type.

I am new here so forgive me for asking. Is that a screw in type as opposed to tabs on the ends?

Its no problem, its a strip bulb that you DONT screw in.

The only way the bulb wouldn't fit in right or loose is if the fixture is the wrong size.
