There are these two beardies at my college that to me look unhealthy and I just wanted some more opinions before I storm into the office and complain and try to help out.

From what I can tell, they look very stressed out most likely from being housed together. I would suggest getting different tanks for them. Also the enclosure looks extremely small. I’d also talk to them about getting a larger enclosure.

Yeah their enclosure is aprox 40 gallons and it looks like they only have uvb bulbs and no real heat source. But im concerned about their weight having been told my girl is overweight by the vet only a few days ago and these babies are about 50% larger than her. I am also worried that the one on the rights body is a wee bit swollen.

highest priority
> separate the pair immediately.
> rehouse them in tanks at least 4ft L X 2ft W x 18in T so they are unable to each other
> new UVB LIGHTS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT , recommend T5HO 12%UVB tubes in reflector hoods about 12" from basking spot
> check temperatures
> no particle type beddings

Thank you I'm going to talk to the ta that cares for them and see if I can get some of those problems fixed

Definitely see about getting them in separate tanks. And they have uvb but no heat ? Tell the admins. that they need heat or will soon suffer from respiratory infection/pneumonia which may come on subtly starting with slight wheezing and or popping mouth noises, lethargy, a coughing noise [ at times ] and heavy breathing with exertion.

They may also begin fighting, although some dragons co exist peacefully. If they are M/F , the female may produce eggs. But again, a heat bulb is mandatory for many reasons. Be respectful when speaking to the person in charge but tell them you know about dragons and can refer them to a good care guide if they want to read one.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
