Tree Branch

Can you cut a branch off a tree and clean and bake it or should it be a dried branch? Thanks

You can do that but make sure it doesn't have sap oozing out. If you can find a dead branch that would be better but a fresh cut one is fine.

I wouldn't use fresh for the sap issue mentioned unless you bake it dry in a fireplace (not sure I'd try it in an oven). Heating a dry piece in the oven to sterilize it is fine though. I take a wire brush to a dead branch to knock off loose bits and organic debris before using a blowtorch to it to sterilize.
