Sorry if this is in another topic, but I just couldn't find it. I have a new beardie, Ike, who I want to take to the vet. How do people transport theirs? Its a bit of a drive and I want to make sure he's safe and secure on the way there.

I've been using a 30L tub (one with 2 clips one each end that hold the lid on) for the last 5- 6 years.
I simply went nuts with an electric soldering iron when I got it to make maybe 100 - 150 holes in the lid to let air in when a lizard inside.

I place a terry towelling tee towel in the bottom and if it's winter I put a medi-hot-cold pad in that I warm up in some hot water to provide some warmth (wrapped in the towel, in summer when it worm I don't bother with providing any heat).

Is plenty big enough for an adult bluetongue skink or a bearded dragon who simply goes in ontop the tee towel) and I then place the tub in the floor infront of the front passenger seat- safe from falls there if I stop suddenly.

For my lizards when they were little and for the water skink I use a nice clean rectangular plastic (cricket) takeaway food style tub (again - I went nuts with the soldering iron on the lid) , and place scot-towels (absorbant) paper in and the skink goes in ontop of the paper towelling. I place this inside the big carryaround tub above and if need be I place a hot/cold pad underneath.
Worked a treat when the bluetongues and beardies were babies too (I brought them and the water skink home this way).

You can also use a small cat carrier type of thing or small gym bag. I use a thick layer of newspaper with some shredded newspaper on for absorption in case of a bathroom accident. Then it can be tossed out when you reach your destination and replaced using fresh newspaper that you could have with you.

Or you could use a plastic container as the other poster mentioned, good idea to have one with a locking lid, or use any suitable cardboard box. You could add a few airholes but they are not really needed as these are not airtight and beardie will not run out of air, just like we don't run out of air on a long drive in the car with no vent or windows open. Or think of being in a small room like a bathroom with no windows open. Even if you sealed all the cracks under the door you could still breath for days.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
